List of Hamed B. Lari's Reviews
Dr Lari spent as much time as I needed explaining the cataract procedure and after. He answered all of my questions, reviewed my medical history and discussed follow-up needs. In the operating room he was most compassionate as he prepared my eye for surgery. I had another eye done several months later with a repeat experience. I continue to see him on a regular basis and have chosen to continue with him instead of my original eye dr.
Recently I had a combined cataract/glaucoma surgery and was fortunate to have been under the care of Dr. Lari. I knew I was in good hands even before the surgery because of the thorough way he inquired about my pre-existing conditions and considered all possible options before settling on the best course of treatment. He took the time to explain the process to me and made sure that I understood the rationale for the procedure. The operation went extremely smoothly, and I experienced no discomfort at any point in time. My recovery has been quite straightforward, and my vision has returned to normal. I have found Dr. Lari to be a very skilled doctor who truly cares for the well-being of his patients. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a highly skilled and insightful ophthalmologist.
My first and final visit lasted about 7 minutes. When he was coming he was about to leave. At that time he made refractometry. He did not ask me if I need it, did not give me a glasses prescription and I found that in the bill. I had to call a receptionist to find my prescription. He charged my insurance about $600. It included ultrasonic evaluation. He told me nothing about the results of that evaluation and I did not see US equipment. When he has prescribed a medicine, he confused his concentration and the address of the provider. I spent a lot of time correcting his mistake. Bye, Dr. Lari
Very attentive, kind and knowledgeable. Office is easy to contact and pleasant on the phone.
I need routine cataract surgery that is covered by my insurance and have made that abundantly clear with doctor & staff. Had 2 visits with Dr. Lari, terrible personality and doesn't want to answer any questions about what to expect with routine cataract surgery. Then on most important visit, pre-surgery, eye measurements, I'm handed 14 pages of pre-surgery paperwork. I actually read every page and sign 9 pages, but the last 4 pages are the SCAM. To an unsuspecting elderly patient or a person who is not at the minimum a comprehension reader, you'd miss what you are almost duped to sign on for. I caught it. Asked questions of staff person, she ran away from me. Then BOOM! Dr. Lari appeared. Again I needed a clear interpretation of the last 4 pages, he refused to explain and threatened to cancel the surgery and then removed the 4 pages. I guess afraid of my Whistle Blowing Review. DO NOT USE THIS EYE PRACTICE IN THE BERKELY HEIGHTS LOCATION OF SUMMIT MEDICAL GROUP.
Months after surgery perform by Dr Lari in my left eye didn't recover my eye sight his own words "surgery wasn't perfect". Went to Dr. Ho ophthalmologist explain to him my situacion and he did a test were he found damage in the optic nerve that later after a MRI they found 2" pituitary gland tumor. Surgery was uncomfortable expensive that after a month still in pain and because his inefficiency ...
I had an appointment in February. I was taken 50min late and had to rush because I had to go back to work. When I came back home that day, I didn't feel good about the diagnosis and left a message to the doctor through the portal. He called me while I was at work next day. I told him that I'm working during the day and cannot respond to a phone call just at a random day/hour. Anyway we couldn't connect and I didn't push again assuming that things will get better with the cream he prescribed me. Unfortunately my eye got worse. I was in and still is in a lot of pain. I messaged him again. He didn't respond. I messaged him again, this time one of the staff members responded saying that Dr.Lari recommends that I see Dr.Monica. 1. Why? What is her specialty? 2.Why I'm referred now? 3. What about my questions. I called the office again, cancelled the appointment that I made with Dr.Lari and now re-scheduling with Dr.Monica without really knowing what's going on.
Dr. Lari saved my vision when another doctor, after cataract surgery, left me with undiagnosed macular edema. Collection of water swelling in the rear of the eye can lead to blindness. Dr. Lari successfully diagnosed and treated my condition. He is a wise and careful doctor.
Dr. Lari is very laid back and compassionate. He was very gentle with my Mother. Unfortunately Summit Health is like a factory now and patient volume is thru the roof, so the feeling is one of get em in and get em out. Each Doc has volume metrics they have to meet so no time for chewing the fat. Such is the state of US Health care now.
I had surgery with Dr. Lari and he and his staff had been great in pre-surgery care and post surgery care. Can't say much about the surgery since I obviously were out cold. But my eyes are recovering well and the results made me very happy. The SMG billing department was efficient and helpful as well.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
