Avoid at all costs. Spent thousands on multiple epidural injections with no results - he then told me he wanted to research other causes.....and completely blew me off. When I finally called him on it he made excuses about busy times - HELLO it’s 2020 think we’ve all been dealing with issues! He also forgot my primary symptoms on my fourth appointment and said “oh you’ve never mentioned that before”. Really? Seems like a nice guy at first but he isn’t someone I’d count on. Go elsewhere!

Dr Kaufman and his team at overlook medical center were so kind and professional!! I am probably the worst patient but they explained my lumbar puncture every step of the way and made me feel safe and cared for during the entire procedure!!! I would recommend him !! Thank you for your patience!!!

Dr. Kaufman is wonderful. He saved me when no other Dr. could help. I will always have gratitude in my heart for him as such a caring person and an exceptional Dr. What others have said about waiting when he speaks to colleagues is likely because he is a Dr. in a teaching hospital, so most often those conversations are to his residents and are to better our care. I personally love the that he takes the time out to explain things to his students and I don't mind waiting. I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman.

A wonderful doctor and a kind, compassionate person. Dr. Kaufman wants to get to the cause of a person's pain and alleviate the problem, not just cover it up by prescribing drugs for a temporary solution. He is a hands on doctor who takes the time to examine you (each visit, not just the 1st one), explain things so they are understood, and involves the patient in the plan of treatment.

Yes, sometimes he is short of patience, but he is the smartest doctor around. He TEACHES all the doctors how to perform epidurals, etc. I would not be walking if not for his genius. I have been seeing him for about 15 years. Some visits he is short of patience, but it is not with you, it is because he deals with so much red tape in the hospital system. He fights for all his patience well-being. Do not listen to the negative reviews. The reason its so hard to get into see him is because HE IS THE BEST!

Ive seen Dr Kaufman three times , with two back procedures performed so far and a third scheduled. He has been courteous and informative and responsive to my special needs as a disabled person.
