Dr. Alvarez is an excellent doctor she made me feel comfortable answered all my questions and followed up with me the next day after my same day surgery. My follow up appointment was also amazing, office staff is professional and friendly. I would highly recommend her.

During the treatment she has been an excellent professional, she has helped me throughout my process. He is a human being who cares for his patients.

What can I say that the rest haven’t?! She’s a very understanding doctor. I came to her seeking help due to a very painful fissure that has taken over my daily life. She I’ll work around you to what’s best for you. She will take everything into consideration.

My experience with Dr Alvarez Downing from day one to my last visit was a first class encounter. Her professionalism and comprehensive care is classic.

Took my mom to be seen by Dr. Melissa Alvarez-Downing and it was a very pleasant experience. The Dr. was very easy-going, took the time to properly exam my mom and also took the time to explain things thoroughly and made sure we both understood what was going on. Surgery was an option solely based on preference but we were able to understand that Dr. Downing was not in favor of it due to the difficult healing process that would later follow. A change in diet and drinking plenty of water was the Dr's recommendation and thank God everything has been great since.

I fell from about 12 feet and when I visited the ER I was treated as if I had a minor injury and only had an X-ray of my shoulder taken. Although I completely explained the nature of my fall, I guess I received this treatment because I wasn’t complaining and over dramatic about my pain and injuries. I consulted withI consulted with Dr. Alvarez and she was concerned that I was not properly diagnosed due to the nature of my accident. She was concerned that because I hit my head that I could have an asymptomatic subclinical intracranial hemorrhage which could be exacerbated by aspirin use, strenuous activity, etc. Given the severity of the fall (height and hitting my head), it made sense that I should be checked just in case, particularly b/c a missed bleed could lead to problems down the road. She suggested I get a CT scan to rule out this condition.Additionally, she suggested that I should have a CBC (hemoglobin) to ensure that I was not anemic in order to determine if a CT scan of abdomen was warranted to evaluate potential liver/spleen injury/laceration.After receiving this advice I returned to the ER and was seen by a doctor which had the same concern for treating patients that Dr. Alvarez has, put the patient first, make sure you have completely diagnosed the patient in order to provide the accurate treatment and rule out potential future dangers to the patient.This new ER doctor actually performed all the test that were suggested by Dr. Alvarez. I now have peace of mind on my health condition because of the advice of a caring doctor.

Listens and cares for each one of her patients! Takes the time needed, so that everyone feels like a person...not just a number.
