I fractured my right hip and was told I needed surgery. This got me nervous not only because this was my very first surgery, but also because this injury happened an hour and a half away from where I live (Westchester County NY). Special thanks to Dr. Sirkin, a very skilled professional who clearly knows what he’s doing. He was so great that I decided to do another follow up with him. Thanks again and I totally recommend!

Dr. Sirking saved my life. In July of 2020, I was hit by a car and fractured my elbow. It was bad, I had a whole in my arm and couldn't move it either. The official diagnoses was "open fracture of left olecranon". Before my surgery in the morning, Dr. Sirkin came up to me and my Mom and assured us it wouldn't be an easy process, but he'd get it done. 3-4 hours later, he came out to my parents and told them the good news that I was ok. A year and change later, I have full restoration of my arm. This is the best doctor.

After a year of healing, I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the care at University Hospital, Dr. Sirkin’s surgery and care, the related plastic surgery by Dr Lee, the infectious disease control by Dr Finkel, the nursing staff and related services.On September 17, 2019 I sustained a compound fraction of my left tibia while walking in Newark. As a 72 year old diabetic with neuropathy in my left leg there were lots of things that might have gone wrong. Before the operation, Dr. Sirkin gave me an excellent description of the surgery and associated risks (e.g., skin does not form over bone and so plastic surgery would be needed after bone repair). For me, his risk management analysis was a confidence builder because it meant that his team was alert to things that could happen and monitoring the risks. They did.The success of the operations and follow-up care enables me to now walk with a normal stride and climb stairs pretty much as I did before the operation – all without a cane or walker and without pain.I am writing on September 21 (about a year after the initial operation) because often it takes about a year before we figure out what we really think about a surgery. With each passing day I appreciate the quality of the surgery and care more.

I am an avid gym enthusiast and function of my arm means everything to me. I could not have asked for a better trauma surgeon specializing in complex fractures. He was able to reset my bones through multiple surgeries/bone graft and gave me the opportunity to use my arm once again. I was fortunate to have the advice of my family which included physicians and an orthopedic surgeon who all agreed I was ever so fortunate to have a gifted surgeon work on me, had I been in any other trauma center or under the care of someone else besides Dr. Sirkin I may have lost my arm. I an eternally grateful and wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Sirkin as a truly phenomenal orthopedic surgeon. Any patient would be lucky to be under his care, and I thank him everyday for restoring my function and livelihood.

My Name is Brian Oglesby I’m Extremely Grateful To Have Been Blessed That Doctor Michael Sirkin Was At The Hospital When I Arrived After My Tragic Accident I Remember Passing Out In The Emergency Room When I Awaken In The Recovery Room I Was Told How Severe My Injury Was And How Doctor Sirkin Performed Short Of A Miracle To Save My Left Leg I Broke My Tubular In Two Places He Inserted A Steel Rod In My Tubular Restructured My Shattered Left Knee Inserted A Steel Plate Several Steel Screws And Did A Manageable Attempt To Reconnect The Nerves In My Left Leg From My Knee To My Foot I Never Knew Exactly What It Mint To Have Biotic Parts Until My Tragic Injury But Thanks To Doctor Sirkin And His Staff I’m A Miracle Thank GOD For Doctor Sirkin I’m Forever Grateful That GOD Chose Him To Revive,To Fix,To Extend The Life Of My Left Leg To Make The Impossible Possible Here It Is Amost Two Years Later With 14 Months Extensive Heavy Hard Working Physical Therapy I’m Walking Standing Beyond All Expectations That I’d Walk Again Thank GOD For Biotics, Technology And Doctor Sirkin He’s A Great Doctor.

The staff was super friendly. Outside of the long wait time, I didn’t have to worry about much. All the doctors were encouraging and they worked hard to make sure my surgery was successful! I’m forever grateful for them.

Dr. Sirkin gave me my life back! After struggling for nearly 6 months with a slow healing winter-related fibula fracture, he completely put my mind at ease assuring me that I am truly healing. He is trustworthy, caring, not to mention brilliant - truly an exemplary physician. Had I not been seen by him, I would have undergone an unnecessary orthopaedic surgery! I am now moving on to my long awaited physical rehabilitation and I am so deeply grateful to him!! Absolutely the best of the best - a top doctor!!!

Dr. Sirkin listened to my concerns and questions. Although my surgery was 2 years ago he seemed very aware of my circumstances and limitations, some of which are age related. He intends to follow up on possible further treatment. He is very encouraging and has a wonderful ‘bedside manner’. He is a very caring doctor. Before my surgery I told him I was a little nervous. He said he was too. He seems very ‘real’ and down to earth. I would refer anyone to him in need of his talents.
