Wayne D. Hsueh's Online Review Report Card

This isn't for Dr. Hsueh. He's a person I have no use for. I gave up on him long ago, but not before he gave up on me. This is for other patients & with the naive hope that someone responsible for him might want to see me on a charity basis before I package my timeline, symptoms & the dozens of emails I sent & start reaching out to docs at other institutions. I liken Dr Hsueh to the Mavis Tire I take my car to. If you need an oil change or new brake pads, they’re great; friendly, efficient, etc. If your needs are complicated, or require extensive diagnostics, you shouldn’t bother. I’m a disabled vet & I get care through the VA. When those docs can’t see you quickly, or your case is complicated, they refer you, in 6 month periods to outside docs. I saw Dr. Hsueh on 2 referrals, 6/20 – 12/20 & 9/21 – 3/22. My initial complaint to the VA doctors was pressure in my left ear. By the time I got to Dr. Hsueh, it had devolved into something far worse. My ear pressure had become sinuses that were blocked solid. Dr. Hsueh saw me & quickly diagnosed polyps and a deviated septum, as the VA doctors did. I told him, as I had the VA doctors, that I’d had both for decades but had never had severe problems from them & had never had ear problems. Desperate, I agreed to surgery, figuring it couldn’t hurt as a start. Dr. Hsueh proceeded without ever viewing or ordering images. He read the VA report, but I’m not sure that was enough. After surgery I felt good. My nose was draining tons of snot & very large, hard scars. Dr. Hsueh prescribed Flonase. I told him I’d had prior negative results with Flonase, but he encouraged me to try again & because I had faith in him, I did. Major mistake. Within days, my situation devolved terribly. I couldn’t breathe again, I was in awful pain & my sinuses began scarring up. Dr. Hsueh broke these scars several times in his office, but ultimately had to put me back on the table to break the deeper ones & stent me. This was at the end of my referral, so I received follow up “care” from the VA. I spent the next several months in pain so severe I was, without hyperbole, suicidal. The VA couldn’t figure out what was wrong & sent me back to Dr. Hsueh, who did, I feel, the bare minimum. I reached out many times expressing my pain and anxiety but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Every visit was scope, scope, “see ya.” I had to, more or less, demand an MRI. As I told the VA docs and told Dr. Hsueh, repeatedly, I think the prob is in my ears. While many of my problems have resolved with multiple daily flushes (with multiple methods & multiple types of solution), my ears continue to be a problem. Dr. Hsueh never did anything comprehensive with them. I’m certain more could have been done and that, had I been Dr. Hsueh’s brother, father, or son, more would have. Currently I keep myself together with patchwork. My routine is daily, time consuming, and often grueling, but I’ve managed to help myself enough that I can get through my days. Still, I need a DOCTOR. Someone with a sense of scientific curiosity when something isn’t obvious. It’s one thing to feel a doc just can’t figure it out, and another to feel like a doc doesn’t care. By the end, I felt like I was bleeding out on the floor, begging for help & Dr. Hsueh was content to watch me bleed. .

Wayne should be banned from practicing and the worst things in life should happen to him. I suffer from Empty Nose Syndrome from his over aggressive surgery. I told Wayne not to touch my inferior turbinate before surgery and he mocked me. He removed it during it! He then lied to me and said he removed a 1/3. CT Scan shows it completely gone along with endoscopy video from 2nd and 3rd ENTS all of whom can’t believe what he did. Read about ENS and how debilitating it is! FU Wayne I hope you die in a fire

Dr. Wayne Hsuey is an amazing ENT. He is compassionate, understanding and incredibly knowledgeable. We traveled almost 2 hours to meet with him about my excessive and bothersome post nasal drip. Through surgery he corrected my deviated septum, reduced my turbinets and made adjustments to the nerve that is responsible for mucus. I am now happily sleeping through the night and my breathing is better than ever! Dr. Hsuay is a gifted and talented doctor. I would recommend him to anyone needing ENT work.

I love Dr. Hsueh. He listens and he knows his speciality. You don't feel rushed. He's so cool.

Dr. Hsueh is a skilled surgeon and compassionate physician. I'm very grateful for his excellent care.

Could not agree more with William's comments and would like to ADD that his staff at Rutgers is always friendly and helpful and that his medical team at St Barnabas was exceptional and went above and beyond. We highly recommend Dr Hsueh!!

Dr. Hsueh is both a doctor with a good bedside manner and a highly skillful surgeon. He's been very responsive from the word "go," and has instilled confidence all along the way.

An absolute pleasure. He has great bedside manner and calmed all my fears about surgery. I highly recommend him!
