List of Steven M. Reich's Reviews
Dr. Reich just performed a second cervical fusion on my spine (C4/C5) having done the first about 10 years ago (C5/6). I have only great things to say about the entire process (other than delays caused by Covid which were beyond anybody’s control)-he is an extraordinarily talented surgeon, but also funny, a pleasure to deal with, and reassuringly confident without being cocky or pompous. The outcome of my surgery has been all positive, with minimal post operative pain and all symptoms of my compressed nerve eased almost completely. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
I have known Dr. Reich for 20+ years. I am Physical Therapist who has treated many of his surgical and nonsurgical patients. Dr. Reich has a pleasant bedside manner who takes time to discuss your symptoms, plan of action and any concerns you may have. He’s and excellent surgeon, skilled and knowledgeable. He is not opposed to trying alternative therapies such as pain management, acupuncture, yoga, etc. and recommends surgery as the last option, barring emergency situations. In 2017, I herniated a lumbar disk. Dr. Reich performed a thorough examination, reviewed all my test results and recommended a course of action. Ultimately, we agreed that surgical intervention was my best option. My procedure was performed on an outpatient surgical center. A few hours later, I walked out without pain for the first time in 3 months. About a month ago, I began to experience low back pain. Once again, I chose to see Dr. Reich. Luckily, my symptoms dissipated with time and the addition of several more exercises. Great doctor. Friendly staff.
Dr. Reich and his partner Dr. Kirschenbaum are two of the finest physicians I have know. Dr. Reich performed surgery on my back due to a herniated disk. From the beginning, I found him to be a great listener and a good educator. He conducted a thorough examination, attempted conservative treatment (physical therapy) and ultimately performed the surgery. This man is meticulous. He also has a GREAT manner about him...making our visits (my bride joined me on the first ones) enjoyable. We knew that we were getting to a solution. And, today, I am walking, running, playing pickleball and soon going back to basketball. He has me on an exercise program (not too rigorous) to keep me healthy for life. I am 69 and am in better condition and shape then I was at 49. Initially, I had a hamstring injury from a fall. Months after I recovered from that, I started getting similar pains up and down my left leg into my buttocks. Step by step, Dr. Kirschenbaum meticulously and cautiously evaluated me. First with X-Rays, then an MRI of my leg, then of my back. Once we got the MRI of my back the problem was clear to him and he referred me to Dr. Reich in the same office. To add to all of this, he staff is caring, friendly and always helpful. These people care and it shows.
Terrible workers comp doxtor wouldnt help me with my slipped discs or bulging discs caused by amazon. Still in pain and have been for 3 years now and recieved no pain medicine the 2nd time I had the pleasure of seeing him. This is crazy and a very bad practice.
In 2013 I severely injured my back in a work accident. I under went chemical therapy (opioids), physical therapy, and nerve ablation. None of these therapies worked. My pain doctors stated I was at maximal improvement with current treatment. My next step was surgery. I researched surgeons for 4 months. I finally settled on Dr. Reich. I was found out about him by an old patient of his that happened to work for my company. I was examined by him and scheduled surgery. I'm must say, this man has saved my career and my ability to provide for my family. My surgery required a very specific type of technique developed by Dr. Reich. I know for a fact, had Dr. Reich not operated on me i would be on disability. Seven years later I'm still working and still providing for my family..
I am making this comment months after having gone to Dr Reich and I have to say I am happy with everything he did for me. I got two herniated discs and was barely able to walk. With his advice and help I am now standing here feeling much better. He was also very very nice and makes you feel good.
It's been MANY years since I was treated by Dr Reich. After a failed operation by another surgeon, I went to Dr Reich. Within 1 visit, he correctly diagnosed my condition and said that I needed surgery to correct what another surgeon did. I was hesitant to undergo another operation, but I did and everything was scheduled. Dr. Reich literally gave my life back to me. Since then, I have been pain free. I would not trust my back to any other doctor!
I am five weeks from having had a microdiscectomy on my back by Dr. Reich to repair a herniated disk. From the first evening following the surgery, the pain in my leg, arising from the disk pressing against my nerve, was gone. Relief. Freedom from pain. Since surgery, I am feeling great, walking over 10,000 steps a day, have lost 6 pounds and waiting my last week until I can start playing pickleball again! :-) I have been a patient of Dr. Reich's partner, David Kirschenbaum for years with a variety of hand and leg issues. Dr. Kirschenbaum is an excellent orthopaedic surgeon in his own right and had worked with me to diagnose the problem. These two doctors made certain that my surgery was successful and have been there post-op to make sure I am progressing well. I got a call the afternoon prior to surgery (a Sunday) from Dr. Reich to assure me that everything was under control. And, it so was!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
