My eye pressure at one point hit 60mm at Wills Eye Emergency on a Friday...that's essentially Thermonuclear Glaucoma. I was scheduled for prompt surgery, 8:30 AM the very next morning. Dr. Schmidt was the surgeon. An Ahmed Valve was implanted and be warned: it does take a while to make full impact. Two months later, however.....the pressure was measured, twice, yesterday, once thirteen mm, then eleven mm. That's 13 ...and 11. That eye is good to go....for the duration. Excellent work Dr. Schmidt.

Have been seeing Dr. Schmidt for about 28 years. He is the best and most qualified glaucoma specialist/surgeon and we are lucky to have him on the east coast. I was sent to him by another glaucoma surgeon who said there was no other specialist better than Dr. Schmidt. He is very patient and does not rush his appointments; so you may have to wait a little longer in his office at times, but isn't having the best worth waiting a little for? My eyesight is sure worth it!!

I didn't like this doctor at all. He was late seeing his patients. He's very unprofessional. The whole staff is unprofessional also. The whole experience sucked.

Dr. Schmidt is very thorough and explains things well. He does not seem to jump right to surgery but tries to treat with medications first.

Dr. Schmidt is extremely thorough, he explains conditions, etc. without talking down to the patient. He knowledgeable and does not hesitate to answer questions. I feel as if my eyesight is in good hands.
