Dr. Akhtar is extremely intelligent, caring and attentive. He listened patiently to everything I had to say and was very empathetic and knowledgeable about my concerns. He understood exactly what I was experiencing. I was initially very apprehensive about getting a colonoscopy for the very first time, but I felt very confident in his abilities, and he made the entire experience a very pleasant one. Dr. Akhtar was thorough and explained the outcome in terms that were easily understood. I am so happy to have found such a great doctor, and I cannot imagine going to anyone else.

Dr. Akhtar treated my father a month before my Dad was officially diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was such a wonderful and caring doctor. He did an excellent job with my Dad (both in his endoscopy/stent work and bedside manner). One of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and follows up with his patients. I will always recommend him.

Dr Aktar handled my situation promptly and professionally. When the results came back, he contacted me immediately HIMSELF. No waiting, no pushing me off on someone who had no involvement to speak to me. That alone is 5 stars in my book. I am confident in my new dr. .

Dr. Akhtar has a quality rarely seen in docs today and that is being present to throughly answer all qs and explains in a non jusgemental manner! On top of that, a doc who knows what he's doing so thumbs up!!

He saved my husband's life by finding & removing a large gallstone in his billiary duct; and took biopsy of surrounding inflamed cells to screen for possible cancer....He also advised that my husband needed to have his gallbladder removed. (Jan, 2014) (August 2016) Husband is doing fine thanks to Dr. Akhtar & a fabulous thoracic surgeon, Dr. Jerome Vernick!
