I have been seeing Dr. Ratkalkar for over 30 years! There have been many times I couldn’t pin point how tired I was, no ‘umphh’, and he has always listened. I’ve had an extensive medical history but also he listens to your personal history to get a better picture. I’ve had a lot of stressful events that have triggered some health issues. He is busy but when he’s with you- you’re the only patient. His nurses are very knowledgeable and caring. The receptionists? I’ve seen a lot come and go. It’s a stressful job with this busy practice BUT they could be better. He’s always aware of what the practice needs and what areas need improving. Don’t be afraid to voice your concerns to him about staff. This Dr is a Diamond in the rough! I hate to see him retire- they just don’t make them like him anymore!!

Dr Ratkalkar diagnosed my condition when no one else could figure it out. He is warm and very considerate of his patients' needs. I would highly recommend him. Unfortunately, I recently moved to Oregon and have not yet found any other pulmonary doctor that lives up to his high standards.

My husband and I have 100% confidence in Dr. Ratkalkar. He listens to any concerns and advises not just on pulmonary issues. Our problem is staff. On Monday 8/24 I called the answering service at 8:30, then again left message on the voice mail at 11:00 AM & 1:30 PM trying to get my husband to see the doctor as he was having excruciating pain in his back. I left very detailed messages and never received any call backs. My husband then went to Excel Urgent Care on 516 where we received excellent service. It is now 3 days later and Dr. Ratkalkar's office never returned our call. The next time we see the doctor I will be sure to let him know. August 2020

The doc diagnosed me quickly and was spot on. I had a pulmonary embolism and thanks to the doc I went to the emergency room and had a CT scan that confirmed his hypothesis. I was admitted and luckily I am home now and expect a full recovery. Very smart man.

Dr Ratkalkar is a fantastic person. He is genuinely concerned about his patients. He listens intently about all of my concerns and responds with his educated and concerned input. He is a magnificent physician and person.

I have been both a patient and a family member and can not begin to express my deep gratitude for the time given over the years Dr Ratkalkar has given to the care of my mother in law who suffered from sever lung issues, his care dedication given to her and our family was amazing Not only to her but it wen on to diagnosis my daughter when she came home from college with Rocky Mountain ,thru the years he had shown kindness dedication to his patients He always answers any questions you may have no matter how trivial He is a great at getting the proper diagnosis and treatment plan My whole family respects and loved him and the office
