List of Vilayvanh Sysounthone Dpm's Reviews
I recommend Dr. Sysounthone highly. I was completely comfortable with her on the initial consult, no second opinion necessary. I went in to inquire what she could do short of surgery, but she recommended a minor procedure for my bumion. She shaved the bone and cleaned up my bunion without screws, minimally invasive. Very thorough, she is still following me almost 3 months later.. I pass her name on to anyone I know with foot problems. Thank you doctor and receptionist.
Best foot doctor I have ever had. She took the time to work with me and find a solution to my problems. Now I can walk all day without issue. Office staff is amazing and accomplished.
Very thorough, cure the condition not just treat the symptoms practice.
I rarely write reviews, but I was compelled to do so for Dr. Vilayvanh Sysounthone. I was looking for a foot doctor to help me with bunions that had gotten too large for my shoes on my flat feet. I went thru several consultations at foot doctors’ offices with xrays to understand my options. Dr. Vilayvanh Sysounthone is a “No BS” foot doctor of kind manner who spent the time reviewing my xrays, answering the many, many questions I had in a very precise manner. Also showing me how and why the bunions progressed, and offered some options to correct. She offered the newest advanced procedure for bunions that she had been performing successfully called Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction that she felt would correct not only the bunions, but help give some lift to my flat feet. Dr. S. spent as much time as I needed to answer questions and take my calls during the process. I did watch several video’s on-line about the Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction and agreed the procedure, and she was the right way to go. The surgery took place in Denville hospital, they were all extremely careful with Covid and cleanliness. Dr S. met me in pre-surgery to make sure everything was exactly as she requested, she performed the surgery and I left a few hours later in crutches and a tall soft boot. The first two days I had minor to no pain taking Tylenol 3, after that only ibuprofen for swelling. After 2 to 3 weeks I was walking gently with the boot on and no crutches, after 5 weeks I was able to wear and enlarged sneaker due to the compression wrap on my left foot. At 6 weeks I had the second foot ( Right) done the same way. By surgery time I was able to gently put all of my weight on the first foot. The second surgery went just as well as the first. By week 2, I was able to walk with the boot, by week 3 no crutches and week 4 in enlarged sneakers and walking lightly on both feet. I had several visits in between for re-wraps and the scar on the top of my left, first foot is almost not visible and the right foot needs more time but is getting there. I wanted to share my story in some detail since this is a lot of time off your feet. You will want to have someone like Dr. Vilayvanh Sysounthone, who is not only a board-certified foot surgeon, but was a breast cancer scientist earlier in her career. She is very knowledgeable with her profession and knows what she is doing to correct your feet. Her being a mother of 4, I found her to be a very caring doctor to her patients and who wants to help people. She also provided follow-ups to check on me after the surgery and answered her cell phone when I called. I truly am glad I found her and decided to put my trust in her as a professional, she made it a very good surgery experience. At this time I am 12 weeks out from the first surgery and 6 weeks out on the second and have been walking in enlarged shoes. It will take several months for all to heal properly. Included is my before and after xray of the most recent surgery foot. Thank You Dr. Sysounthone.
Dr. Sysounthone is literally the best doctor/specialist I have ever been to. I highly recommend her for any and all of your foot concerns. She is extremely knowledgeable, her office is extremely well kept, and her staff is very courteous and friendly. Her scheduling is precise and I’ve never waited longer than 5 minutes to be seen. She’s one of the doctors that actually sees you during your appointed time. As someone that works in a highly busy field, this level of precision and organization is extremely appreciated. I came to Dr.S simply for a consultation and to get some answers about something I’ve dealt with since birth. To my surprise, Dr.S not only answered all my questions about this ailment but she also told me this could be corrected. She thoroughly explained what the issue was and came prepared with a list of different procedures to pick from. She answered any questions I had in detail, even providing visuals when needed and made sure that I was comfortable with the level of information I had regarding each different procedure. You can tell by the level of detail she provides that she really cares about her patients. Once I made a decision, the surgery was scheduled in a timely manner as well as any other exams/checks that had to be done pre-surgery. My surgery was a detailed and complex, something that most podiatrists don’t get to do in their career. In fact, I was Dr. Sysounthone’s first patient to receive this surgery and it was executed flawlessly and seamlessly, “textbook” as she likes to call it. I’m attaching some x-rays for reference so you can all see just how excellent the procedure went. In the first picture the left is the start of the procedure (April), the right is the middle of the process (July). The second picture is two angles of the current status (October) almost fully healed. The procedure was to create the gap in my bone that did NOT exist before and have my bone fill in the gap naturally. No graft or insert needed. The metal in the x-ray is the device that makes the process possible. I got my surgery in late April, I’m now 90% recovered and feel amazing about the results of the surgery. It is a lengthy process and recovery but it has been extremely worth it. Dr. S has changed my life in the most amazing way and was able to give me something I never thought I’d be able to have. I wouldn’t go to any one else but her, her work is literally miraculous.
Dr. Sysounthone was highly recommended to us when I tore my achilles tendon. She followed me through my recovery without surgery. When it came time to help my son with severe flat foot and pronation, I knew we needed to go to Dr. Sysounthone. She walked us through and tried all the options to get my son some support and relief before recommending surgery. He did end up having surgery since his condition was severe. Surgery was scheduled in a very timely manner. Dr. Sysounthone went over all the fine details of his surgery explaining all the procedures she would be doing for my son’s surgery as well as his recovery. She kept us informed every step of the way. My son feels a positive difference already. Dr. Sysounthone is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She takes the time to listen to the patient and researches all options before racing to surgery. She has 2 different office locations which is very convenient. We would highly recommend Dr. Sysounthone for all foot issues.
Dr. Sysounthone
Dr. V Sysounthone provided the most up to date technique for my severe bunion surgical repair on my left foot. The Dr. Informed me I would be one of the first in the area to receive this new procedure. I am so very thankful for her. This procedure left me with little to no pain. My right foot also has a sever bunion that will be repaired in the spring by Dr. Sysounthone. Her post surgical follow up and care guaranteed my successful recovery. It was extremely important to listen to her directions for a complete healing. Thank you Dr. Sysounthone!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
