I have been a patient of Dr. Holwitt's for over 10 years and he has performed 3 lung surgeries on me during this time. I have the utmost respect for him. He is to the point and tells it like it is, but he is also very warm and caring. You couldn't ask for a better doctor/surgeon.

He seems to care more about doing more surgeries than actually helping you get out of the hospital sooner. I read the reviews too late. My family member had a successful initial surgery, but Dr Holwitt seemed to push hard for another procedure two days later when it was really needed. Once we denied he quickly became aggravated and displayed poor bedside manor.

Steer clear of this doctor. He only wants to make a buck. Has horrible beside manner. Within a week of surgery, was using strong arm tactics calling family members with threats and lies to collect what insurance didn't pay. We are very concerned this provider will do the same to someone else. He brags about is years of experience and tells you that he has done this surgery 28 times and they did not go well. All after the fact.

Doesn't take into consideration of family members of patient, poor bedside manner. Gets annoyed when requesting more to be done on a patient he considers dying and bluntly says o. Unfortunately in our situation he was the doctor on call in th ER and we had no choice of surgeons. Too bad this comment won't make a difference in future patients because he is old and I'm sure will be retiring soon, just had to vent my opinion.
