This doctor jumped to conclusions about me after knowing the most basic facts about my health - my height/weight, family history, and my blood pressure which was high and I explained that I had high anxiety at the doctor always and take my BP at home and it's fine. This doctor didn't ask me once about my diet or exercise routine. The first thing she said to me was “our concern is your weight” -- again, knowing nothing about me, not asking me any questions about how I feel about my health, not seeing any bloodwork, literally only met me 5 minutes prior. When I advocated for myself, she told me that she'd get in trouble with her bosses if she didn't talk about it or diet and exercise. Did she ask ANY question about my diet and exercise??? NO. So how was she coming to this conclusion that my weight is a concern and that she needed to talk to me about diet and exercise??? When she didn't know a single thing about what I eat and how I move. Just another fatphobic doctor; what else is new. Highly recommend looking into Health at Every Size and making a pledge because EVERYONE deserves health care and your biases are affecting my health way more than my weight does.

I saw Sheyda Makui MD through Crystal Run healthcare which I usually love most of their doctors and services. This visit was completely different. I was told by doctor Makui to “go take Zyrtec” and that I had allergies meanwhile I was walking around with strep throat that entire time most likely spreading it to others in my line of work and to my three children. It has been a nightmare and still a month later I have no voice which in my line of work makes it impossible for me. I also had to call the office four times, four different days to get ahold of the doctor again. We put in a claim with our insurance company but I will never be seeing this doctor again. Horrible. My next step is going to see a new doctor so I can then go see a specialist for my voice that is still not back. Many others reached out to me via social media and their doctors prescribed them amoxicillin with the same symptoms. They are all better and I still have an ongoing issue. Mind you I am in good health with no prior health issues. We workout and eat well often. It is very rare we get sick. I can not remember the last time I have ever went to the doctor seeking out medicine besides birth control after having babies. I just don’t want this to happen to another person and for them to have to go through what I am going through now.
