List of Africa F. Wallace's Reviews
Five years ago, I had surgery performed by an incompetent surgeon even though he had high ratings and came highly recommended by another doctor. As I was dying in my hospital bed I fired the doctor with no regrets. Well, within hours the most beautiful angel walked into my room name Dr. Africa Wallace to review my case. I hired her on the spot and going forward she and her team began to work on this broken body. Along with other miracles, she performed a Pleural Effusion and Heller Myotomy on me. Her care and bedside manner goes beyond a doctors care! I am a five-year survivor because of Dr. Africa Wallace's experience in medicine. I am forever grateful to Dr. Wallace, Nicole and her team of doctors! Judy Johnson, Macon Georgia
My wife had lung cancer and Dr.Wallace performed a partial lung removal that included removing 2 lymph nodes. She traveled @ 100 miles to pick up a pain prescription about two weeks after leaving the hospital. The office staff nurses gave her the wrong med. They became very defensive and hostile when my wife explained it was not what she and Dr.Wallace had agreed for her to take. My wife was still upset and shaken when she returned to Byron,Ga. without anything for pain. There is a confusion between what I heard from the doctor after surgery and what my wife was told at her follow-up concerning the number of nodes infected and if they were removed. We will have to find out from the local oncology Dr. when we go.It took constant calling and getting our primary Dr. invovled to get the office to complete the referral so treatments can be done local. I've seen very negative reviews of her office and I know good help is hard to find...but that's McD's.I hope she replaces them soon.
Since I can not find the option to remove a review that I previously posted I will need to update this one .. the previous post about TOS is mine. at first I felt like her thoracic outlet syndrome surgery was a success but It has turned out to be a disaster. She should not perform this operation. I’m sure she may be qualified in other areas but in this area she is not. I have regressed into the worse pain ever. She left a bone fragment near thu posterior rib stub. She left too much rib and too much of the scalene mucles and I have needed to consult with a national expert in TOS and will be having a redo surgery due to her 50% method. I was initially diagnosed with arterial TOS but later told that it was not arterial it was neurogenic ..arterial diagnosis should only be given when there is an aneurism or blood clot. She only fixed the arterial blood flow and compression which I am grateful for but I have been in the ER six times since her surgery. About once a month. Due to the pain from The bone fragment left behind and the remaining scalene muscles that have possibly adhered to my brachial plexus. It was a “terrible” surgery according to my new surgeon but he says it can be an easy fix at this point. That’s the only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because her approach through the armpit at least allows someone fresh access to the supraclavicular fossa.
This is an amazing Doctor. Dr. Wallace became my moms surgeon when she came into Piedmont Hospital for a collapsed lung. My mom had IPF which complicated everything my mom had done. She administered completel care, empathy, and solutions when my moms primary pulmonologist (Dr.Case, With Ga lung) never even showed up to care for in any way my moms condition. We had never even met Dr. Wallace before my moms admittance into Piedmont and me and my family trusted everything she did for my mom.
Wow! Dr Wallace was so kind and clear explaining things to me. My surgery was scary for me and she did a 100% perfect job! My feeling is returning to my hand I can use it again. After surgery she gave me a big hug and I felt treated so well given the pain I was and am in post surgery. Before the surgery she was very forward in telling me it was going to hurt. She has gifted hands and a special ability to heal the body. I am bilateral Thoracic outlet syndrome and when my right arm recovers I will do the left with her. So proud and lucky to have had her perform my surgery. God bless Dr. Wallace. She has angels!
One star is being generous. When you call the office to try and get someone to call you back because your parent is in pain after having a stent placed AND IT TAKES DAYS to get a call back. The last time it took THREE DAYS of me calling to get someone to speak to the doctor and call me back. Now I am on day TWO AND STILL WAITING. Meanwhile my dad has been to the ER and was sent home since it’s not a “life threatening" situation. Yet he still continues to throw up and be in pain.
As a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, I can tell you what makes a good surgeon is not just good surgical technique, but also wise precaution. My critically ill mother had complications with a surgery that was then referred to Dr. Wallace. Dr. Wallace assessed the situation diagnostically and made a plan that was minimally invasive While she is still in the ICU, I can tell you that Dr. Wallace is confident, skilled communicator and compassionate. I couldn't ask for a better Doctor or person.
A wonderful surgeon, very skilled and a terrific person and a very caring physician.
A lifesaver!!!! Wonderful Physician, can not say enough good about her.
Dr. Wallace saved my father's life. She is a great surgeon and also is very compassionate and caring.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
