David Tsai's Online Review Report Card

My very adventurous toddler fell the week before his first birthday and did severe damage to his thumb. Bone was crushed, detached nail with a lacerated nail bed and extensive soft tissue damage. The pediatric ER @ Capital Health-Hopewell called Dr. Tsai and he came in to do his reconstruction. I was nervous to say the least, but Dr. Tsai instantly put me at ease with my son’s prognosis. Surgery went perfectly, his thumb was saved and looks completely normal today-even grew his nail back! Dr. Tsai and his staff are amazing, we highly recommend them.

Dr Tsai provided me with excellent service. He talked with be before and after surgery to ensure I properly understood everything He answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. His staff was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend dr. Tsai!!

October of 2022, I had gone to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for weakness of my left wrist. Upon x-ray screenings they found that my scaphoid bone was fractured. I was referred to a hand and upper extremity surgeon, Dr. David Tsai. After meeting Dr. Tsai and examining my x-rays and CT scans, I was told the importance of the scaphoid bone and how necessary it was to get surgery. I was very nervous, and he reassured me that I was in "good hands." He displayed his expertise and knowledge by explaining in DETAIL how the surgery may be performed and what I was to endure afterwards. He made me so comfortable and reassuring. He performed the surgery less than a month later and did an excellent job with minimal scarring. Here it is only 2 months later, and I don't even feel like I had SURGERY! I will definitely recommend Dr. Tsai to anyone that may need hand and upper extremity surgery. He has a great aura about him and such a great person to have met!!

I am beyond impressed by Dr. Tsai’s expertise and compassionate approach. You can look up his credentials and locations of training as a resident and realize that he is more than competent. I fractured my left ring finger and had a lot of “bumps” along the way leading up to surgery second to my pregnancy and other factors. Dr. Tsai was so caring and made me feel like I was his only patient. My original surgery was aborted because staff had concerns with my heart rhythm and Dr. Tsai advocated to make sure I received all appropriate clearance for surgery inclusive of OB and cardiac. He did all of this at about 10pm after he personally called to follow up with the ED to make sure I was being admitted. The ED was going to discharge me and that would have delayed surgery by a few weeks and Dr. Tsai made sure that didn’t happen. I know beyond a fact that this physician is extremely busy with surgeries, office hours, on call, and his personal life but you would never know. He literally would follow up via email personally because he actually cared. Every time I went into his office Dr. Tsai was so thorough in his explanations and was so warm with a smile on his face. Even my occupational therapists were telling me how staff at the Regional Trauma Campus was impressed with his collaborative approach on patient therapies and how positive patients spoke of him. His nurse Olga also called me just to see how I was doing since I had a complicated surgery followed by an intense recovery. To say I would recommend Dr. Tsai would be and understatement! He is a phenomenal individual with such a gentle soul!!

Last December, I had to go to the ER at Capital Health due to a fractured hand. Upon discharge and confirmation that I would need surgery as soon as possible, they referred me to Dr. Tsai. I had to do some research on him and was impressed by his credentials, so I had high confidence that I’ll be fine. When I met him the first time, he patiently explained the different options that they may perform to “fix” my hand. His attendant was also accommodating in providing information about what to expect before, during, and after the medical procedure. My surgery went without any problems, and I am very impressed with the applied surgical technique. He did mention that his approach will quicken the healing process to about a few weeks compared to months when doing the “usual” way. Five weeks after my surgery, I was cleared of any physical restrictions and was back doing activities as if I didn’t break any bone, thanks to Dr. Tsai’s expertise.
