I went to Dr. Katzel for gender-affirming top surgery and his work is amazing. His staff were friendly, his bedside manner was excellent, and all of my post-op care was explained to me very clearly and all my questions were answered. I’m writing this a day after my surgery and I feel great! Minimal pain without medication and i feel fully awake and alert. I’ll happily reccommend Dr. Katzel to anyone looking for top surgery!

Excellent bedside manner. Listened to me. Was upfront with expectations and possible concerns. Was thrilled with the results. Needed to come back (I was told this might be a possibility) got me in on my schedule. The surgical suite is amazing. Don't have anything but praise. Highly recommend. I am a breast cancer survivor and I never thought I'd have normal looking breasts again, they're perfect. After what I went through I didn't want foreign bodies and he did this all with my own tissues. They look good. They feel good. I can wear normal clothes. He's amazing. He was recommended by and on staff with hospital University of Pennsylvania. I went through the Renna Rowan breast cancer center. They wouldn't recommend anybody if they weren't 10 out of 10. Completely trust and recommend him.

Gynecomastia surgery Breast reduction surgery went horrible. Looks worse now then it did presurgery.

Strongly Recommend Being diagnosed with breast cancer is devastating, but Dr. Katzel has been a true professional throughout. He is a perfectionist and artist at his craft, which is exactly what was needed for the plastic surgery aspect of my care. It is nice not to worry about what my finished breasts will look like after all the cancer treatment, as I know I am safe in his capable hands. His office staff is also top notch.

Dr. Katzel is a wonderful surgeon. I took my daughter to see him at Penn Medicine to fix her torn earlobe. He fixed her ear the same day we had the consult, right after he finished two other appointments! Told us that he would do it the same day so that we don't have to come back another day. I really appreciated it. It was a short wait unlike the wait time at some other doctors' offices I've experienced. He clearly explained what he was going to do, has a terrific bedside manner and a dry sense of humor. He made sure my daughter was comfortable. We saw him again a week after the procedure for follow-up and hardly had to wait for more than 10 minutes. My daughter's ear has healed very well. Overall, we had a great experience at Penn Med with a great doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Katzel for any procedure.

Excellent Dr. Katzel was my last hope and he did excellent work!!! I can tell you he is the best in my book and I will always be thankful to have found him.My experience with his office was great as well, very friendly and helpful.Thank you Dr. Katzel :)

Incredible surgeon, couldn't ask for better. The surgeons at RJWB couldn't even meet with me until Jan 2024. By that time, I'd met with Dr. Katzel, gotten approved by my insurance with their help, did me pre-op tests, and got my surgery done! All that's left is the post-op. His staff is so kind and worked incredibly hard with me to make sure my operation was covered by insurance and they also worked through many scheduling issues since I live pretty far away. I'm feeling very lucky to have been able to be treated by him, truly.

Dr. Katzel and his staff are wonderful. I’m sorry we had to meet because of a breast cancer diagnosis but the experience was a pleasure. From my first consultation to my most recent post op visit, Dr. Katzel was always approachable and available. He answered all of my questions, addressed all my concerns and was quickly available in the event of something urgent. I would highly recommend him, he was the silver lining in my medical journey.

Dr. Katzel is by far the best plastic surgeon in the Philadelphia area. Very friendly, very attentive, and overall a great guy! Would highly recommend.

I am very happy with Dr Katzel, he knows and understands the body very well very professional but yet down to earth to I'm blessed to have a surgeon like him !!
