Brian Keegan's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Keegan, who I'd never met, walked into the exam room, saying nothing, not even hello. He walked past me to get some materials, sat down in front of me and began to ask me question. I asked, "Who are you?" He informed me he was a doctor. I asked whether it was appropriate to introduce himself to a new patient. He said, "My name is on my shirt." He never told me his name. The only reason I know it is because I went on the website to find it. I immediately felt uncomfortable. I found him dismissive, inattentive, and rude. No follow-up appointment was suggested. Subsequently, the results of the biopsy he performed that day were relayed by a nurse, by phone. She never inquired about healing of the wound or if I'd had any problems. I have never had a doctor excise a part of my body and not take time to report the results to me personally. You know, in case I had in-depth questions. In my experience, usually, that's the purpose of a follow-up appointment as well as to assure proper healing of the wound. I believe it's called care. I subsequently emailed the manager of the Princeton Dermatology with a report of my treatment. Including the lack of any follow-up. She replied and apologized informally, telling me I would receive a formal apology after she discussed what had occurred with her CEO. Apparently, that person disagreed with her acknowledgment of my poor treatment. I never heard from Princeton Dermatology again. They are completely lacking in accountability. I also reported this interaction to the NJ Board of Medical Examiners. They replied, "Unfortunately, there is no law regarding insensitivity or rudeness by a physician and/or the physician’s staff.", which explains a lot. When doctors are poorly behaved, you're on your own, folks. Maybe it was because I am black, I'm not sure, but my treatment was dehumanizing. Dr. Keegan was remarkably uninterested in me as a person. The staff member I interacted with was rude to the point of abuse. I would never recommend him or Princeton Dermatology.

Dr. Keegan is exceptional - competent, caring, patient, thorough, personable, honest. He is the best dermatologist - without question - I have encountered. He always ensures that questions are answered. And he is empathetic. He relates very well to all ages - young and old. I am grateful to him for the care that he displays in treating my family and his evident humanity. This is a person who cares about his patients, their outcomes, and their well-being.

Dr. Keegan is so patient and knowledgeable. He explains his reasoning and diagnoses in Layman's terms so that you can understand and feel comfortable! Highly recommended!

The staff was extremely efficient when I walked in. Within 10 minutes I was in the examination room. Waited for 5 minutes when Dr. Keegan came in. My exam was simple and required a simple procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Keegan and staff. Barry
