List of Richard H. Wong's Reviews
Terrible attitude. Treats staff like servants and has no bedside manner. He appears to be disdainful of everyone. He was a followup person so sincerely hope his surgery skills are superior to his ability to interact with others.
No bedside manner and no professionalism at all. I have dry eye issues and visited this doctor. The only thing he did was to confirm my issue and tell me there was no treatment for it and it would only get worse as I age, which means he made me more worried without telling me how to deal with it. He did ask me if I wore contacts, but not until I myself checked online afterwards did I find out that actually it's better for dry eyes not to wear contacts. In the end, he gave me a sample eye drop even though I told him that I already had it at home.... He was impatient when I asked him questions, and it seemed that the only thing he wanted was for me to leave even though I had been waiting for him for so long in the exam room. I have to check online about what daily routine I should do to improve this issue. Too bad the suggestions were not given during the visit.
Totally lacking in bedside manner. On a visit to check cause of my retinal flashes, did not introduce himself. Examined mostly without speaking except issuing commands. Explained my situation briefly and acted irritated when I asked questions. I left feeling poorly informed and will not return.
Avoid this doctor at all costs. Needed to see an eye doc asap for an eye problem while in town for the holidays. After waiting almost an hour to see him, he spent less than 5 minutes examining me and made a completely wrong diagnosis. He missed a foreign object lodged in my eye and instead implied I had a chronic, untreatable condition. He wouldn't listen when I tried to tell him that I felt like something was actually under my eyelid. He dismissed my concerns and was unfriendly and arrogant. Thankfully, I went for a second opinion with a different doctor the following day who found the foreign object in my eye and completely refuted Dr. Wong's so called "diagnosis". AVOID AVOID AVOID
Waited for 2 hrs...Dr seemed disinterested...techs were excellent...office mgr and front desk came across as having an attitude, were not friendly at all...waiting room blasting the View with Joy bashing our country and president...try HGTV instead...front office staff accosted us on the way out to make sure they collect the $60 refraction fee...
not very good.
After waiting for over 30 mins to see him in the exam room, he only spent 10 mins with me. Half of these mins he spent looking at paperwork and writing things down. I understand that he was probably very busy that day, but he had no empathy for how long I waited to see him. He was in such a rush to leave me that he seemed impatient when I said I had more questions. Overall, I didn't get anything out of this visit because he just told me to see someone else. I'm very disappointed in him.
Despite having called my primary care physician and having verbal assurance that a referral was being sent to Dr. Wong, the staff insisted that I supply credit card information and sign for all possible expenses as if I was uninsured. This was after waiting more than 30 minutes from the time I was scheduled to see the doctor. No one asked me why I was seeing the doctor. Clearly, they were only interested in receiving payment. The verbal assurance from my primary physicians office was not sufficient.
Dr Wong was the on call doctor when I had a retina emergency. He told me he was not a retina doctor and there was nothing he could do but refer me to Wills in Philadelphia. I told him I could not get to Philadelphia and he said he had no other suggestion. I explained I needed to speak to my doctor who instructed me to call if I had any problem and his response-he has a family and it is the weekend, I told you what to do. He basically left me hanging. I went to my local er and was seen by a retinologist who did emergency surgery within the hour. My retina had detached and if I waited till Monday or even took the time to get to philadelphia I probably would have lost my vision permantely. I would NOT reccomend Dr Wong to anyone. He was uncaring and cold in a critical emergency situation.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
