Stephen M. Felton's Online Review Report Card

My mother has been a patient of Dr. Felton for many years. This is not a review of his medical competence rather his attitude toward his patients. The doctor was extremely rude to my 91 year old mother. When she complained of double vision he asked her if she still drove, which she does not, and told her in that case it didn’t matter that she was seeing double. When I asked him for a new prescription to help this problem as much as possible he only wrote out the changes needed for the single lens. When my mother asked for a full prescription for her records he was extremely rude but eventually wrote it out. At one point during the appointment we were left sitting in a small room with no explanation of why or how long we were to wait. We will be looking for a new ophthalmologist for future visits.

While the eye examination itself was satisfactory - the post examination services for patients was not. I asked, several times, for a complete copy of my examination results but was repeatedly denied. I would have to rate this physician as unprofessional given the improper care i.e. incomplete discharge instructions and poor post-examination services. I would NOT recommend this physician to family and/or friends.

Waited an hour, no apology. It seemed as if I was the last appointment for the day and he wanted my visit to be over with as fast as possible.Wanted to charge me and my insurances twice. I said no way.
