Donald Allegra is the worst doctor I’ve ever been to. He doesn’t believe in the existence of Lyme Disease and he told me that I was a Hypochondriac. I left the appointment crying.

Horrible. This doctor did not understand or care to understand my symptoms which left me untreated. Anything I said seemed to be used against me to "prove" that I did not have what I actually DID have. I was treated by another practice and my problem was resolved with a simple oral antibiotic. Avoid if you actually need help.

Will never go back and do not recommend at all. Dr Allegra ignored all my symptoms and told me to take sleeping medication. Thank goodness I went to another doctor and got a real diagnosis and treatment.

Go to pa if your looking for real infectious disease groups and not HIV clinics. Other members in his group have 14 negative reviews. Should be investigated by the state.

Any physician can give out meds once a diagnosis is confirmed, but not any physician can diagnose and listen to the patient. Most of the testings they swear by are only 50-80% sensitive, yet will use it to deny treatment. I wonder how many people have expired with him or Mcmanus, his partner.

I love this doctor and staff....He has always been awesome and his personal nurse Dani has always returned calls and responded to issues almost immediately. I asked him to be my primary doctor also and has been the last 3 years!

Dr Allegra diagnosed and solved my issues after a few others could not...I have been a patient since 2004 and he has acted as my primary physician the last 3 years!

When the emergency room doctor sent me home with a fever and obvious infection, Dr Allegra assisted in getting the hospital to admit me and I then spent a week on IV antibiotics, that the emergency room didn't think I needed. God knows how bad I would have been without him.

I also had a similar experience to others posting here. I have chronic Lyme (proven via PCR and immune tests) and he told me straight to my face, despite positive tests, that I don't have Lyme. He is truly ignorant about tick borne illnesses and purely follows guidelines (actually, I was positive by CDC standards too, so not even) rather than critical thought or evidence.
