List of Lawrence Frieman's Reviews
The front office staff were polite and helpful, although the Doctor has a terrible manner when giving eye exams. He seemed annoyed anytime I asked him to click back one to make my decision on what was clearest and kept telling me to be quiet and would say the same thing over and over again, like I was stupid and didn't understand him the first time. I felt like my distance prescription wasn't clear enough but he just told me to 'Ssh and don't worry about that' so I stopped talking and waited for the exam to be finished. Maybe he is great with more serious eye conditions but I would not recommend seeing him for a regular eye exam. I honestly feel like I need to go and get another somewhere else. Horrible experience.
I used to go to him years ago because my grandmother went I stopped because he's very rude I went back with someone and he hasn't changed still abrupt and rude he seemed annoyed that we were there
Stay away! There's plenty of other eye doctors to choose from in Red Bank and surrounding towns that you don't need to settle for putting up with a rude doctor who only cares about billing your insurance. They bill you twice as they won't fit you for glasses and contacts in the same visit. Additionally, I went in for my contacts fitting and he refused to fit me for contacts because I hadn't used eye drops he (unnecessarily - per another eye doctor) prescribed. Will never be going back and I hope this helps others make an informed choice as well.
I have been a patient of Dr. Frieman's for 25 years. He is an excellent doctor and I am very satisfied with the care I receive.
I've been a patient for well over a decade. Dr. Lawrence Frieman is one of New Jersey's very best. I'll be frank... if you're looking for a talk show host kinda doctor or one who says, "Call me by my first name, bro!" then go elsewhere. If you want your eyes examined... and I do mean examined!... by someone who has untold experience and education, then go to Dr. Frieman. He doesn't sugarcoat, he doesn't "happy talk" you to death. He's a professional and is there to do one thing: Take care of your eyes. Don't think so? How about this: I had a sudden mass floater issue one afternoon when his office was closed. I called and left word with his answering service. Within minutes he called me back, listened to my problem and said to meet him at the office as soon as possible. And I did! He was in casual wear no less and I clearly interrupted something he was enjoying on his day off. He discovered I had a serious matter (a retinal tear) and the following morning he used a laser to repair it. It was less than 24 hours from the time I had the issue to the time he took care of it! I was grateful beyond words. Friends, I don't care how many people weigh in here. Dr. Frieman genuinely CARES about your eyesight. That's the bottom line. Furthermore, his office staff and assistants are the nicest people you'll ever run across. Always pleasant, even when under pressure. I praise these folks because they're deserving. I praise these folks because that's been my experience since day one.

Lawrence Frieman couldn’t be bothered to listen and rushed me through the appointment. I would avoid him at all costs. He answered all of my questions with one word answers. He should just retire. The office then sent me a 1 bill 4 months later stating they are about to send my past due amount to collections. I never received any other bill or a call prior to that.
Dr. Friedman is great. I have been going to him for years. I HOPE HE NEVER RETIRES!
I have been a patient of Dr. Frieman for 5 years. I find him to be an excellent doctor. He is very thorough and serious about my eyes. So far, he has been on target and I would not want to ever have to change. I give Dr. Freeman 5 stars!
He has the worst bedside manner...would shine lights directly in your eyes and yell at you if you involuntarily flinch.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
