List of Kenneth Remsen's Reviews
Dr Remsen took care of my sinus surgery many years ago and I have not had a sinus infection since. I go to him annually to get my ears cleaned.
Today I visited Dr. Remsen and it was an excellent experience. When I initially called to schedule the appointment, I couldn't help by notice how nice the office staff was. They were extremely accommodating and kind. Upon arrival the office was clean and felt safe. I was the only one there other than the office staff. Dr. Remsen was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I'm so happy to have found a good doctor along with a wonderful supportive staff.
Many years ago this supposed doctor was going to give drainage in my nose. He operated on me and I was sent home and by Early evening I had 104fever and green and yellow pouring out of my nose. and eyes swollen and half open. Called his office and no covering doc. He was on vacation. Had to go to ER. Got a shot and sent home. Next day internist admitted me to the hospital where I was put on steroids, and antibiotics intravenously. Infectious doctor called in. Sent home but had to be readmitted with same problems. When Remsin returned he was confronted by my internist and was nasty to her and she called in another ENT to care for me and told me never to see him again. 16 years later my nose is still a mess Every ENT I have seen told me he collapsed my nose inside so my nose does not get enough air and my turbinates swell causing infection. This Remsin has a terrible reputation with many ENT doctors as far as NYC. He wrecked my life as I have constant infections and too many antibiotics and steroids to try to help me. I filed a charge against him with NJ Medical Board accompanied by doctor letters when this happened and they did nothing to him. So much for them too. Stay away from this incompetent and arrogant excuse for a doctor.
He operated on my sinuses to give me “drainage” and sent me home with blood, yellow and green drainage coming out of my nose. He was not available when I called him in the evening but was away on vacation with no coverage in his practice. I had to go to the ER and had a 104 fever. They cleaned my nose up and gave me a shot for pain in my face and eyes. Subsequently I was able to see an ENT after my internist hospitalized me and subsequently an infectious disease doctor saw me giving me steroids and differing antibiotics. It took three hospitalizations to get me on my feet. Many years later I still suffer from botched surgery by Remsin. I wrote to the NJ Medical Board who sent him a letter of reprimand. I cannot believe a great group like Summit has employed him. His reputation is most questionable even among his colleagues. He should not be practicing.
Many years ago I had him remove my thyroid. He paralyzed both of my vocal cords and after 3 months of going once a week and he did nothing I went to NY. I was put in the hospital within 15 minutes of seeing my doctor there. Before I knew what happened I had a trach in my throat which I still have today. 11 surgeries to get me to where I am. It has taken all our savings going back and forth to NY since I live in Florida. Thankful I had kids that lived in NJ. In between surgeries we came home to Fl. Very expensive let alone the anger in me. He made a mess out of my life. I think God for the support from family, friends and the doctor in NY who saved my life.
I had an appointment setup with Dr. Remsen for my 2 month old son for a procedure. The appointment was scheduled over a week in advanced, plus I had called the day prior to get any special instructions. Three hours before the appointment I received a phone call that Dr Remsen could no longer perform surgeries any more and that the appointment would need to be cancelled. This was a huge waste of time for me considering I had to make arrangements at work. Very unprofessional.

My office visit was bizarre in hindsight. He sent me for a cat scan and then refused to talk to me to discuss the results or answer any questions I had. A person in his office finally told me to go to a neurologist when I was perplexed. During the visit he was in full on CYA mode since he realized he very likely didn't do the appropriate diagnostic tests for my symptoms months earlier. He forcefully told me that I came in for a sore throat. I was flabbergasted and didn't know what he was talking about. I stated that I came in for nasal pain. He corrected me more than once and told me that no I came in for a sore throat. I finally caught on as to what he was getting at. I told him I don't care and that I just want to find out what is wrong. Completely bizarre incompetent person. Stay away. This is your health. Not competent.
Stay away. Not competent.
His personality is a little dry but who cares. He removed my tonsils at 40yrs old and my sons adenoids without any issues. Good to me and my boy and staff was nice to us as well.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
