List of Select Specialty Hospital - Northeast's Reviews
I would like to start by mentioning the Cleanliness , The hospital is always nice and clean the staff are mostly Nice and curious most of the nurses were very kind and tried to the best of there abilities to assist the patient. And assure comfortability, especially i would like to thank Mr Oleg Rivkin the ceo for accommodating us with whatever possible as well i would like to mention a thank you for for Dr S Arora for his compassion and kindness by keeping us updated and explaining in detail the patient condition when we called , and the kind words while he reached out to us after the passing of our beloved mother and last but not least thank you to Rabbi JoelFried The hospital chaplain. For always being there for the family from the first Moment the paitent was Admitted he was there for us 24 hours a day .
Our mother suffered severe complications from cancer surgery, and came to Select Specialty Hospital after being in an ICU for an entire month. To say that she was a extremely complicated medical case is an understatement.Maha Asfour helped us step by step through the admissions process, patiently explained every step of the way, and helped us with some special details that we required. She is a true professional and cares deeply about the patients and their families. But she is far from the only friendly, gracious, generous and helpful person at Select Specialty Hospital. Literally everyone went out of their way and above and beyond during our mothers’ month long stay. One last note; NY does not have a comparable LTACH that’s privately owned and operated. We traveled over an hour each day each way to visit, and we still feel it was worth every awful minute in traffic.Thank you to everyone on the Select Specialty Team for having so much love to share with their patients and families.
My dad entered the hospital in a coma and on a ventilator. 5 weeks later he was awake and off the ventilator. These results were beyond the family's wildest expectations. The staff, from admission to discharge, delivered on every promise they made to us. They took care of my father as if he was their own. A special shout out to Maha Asfour who handling the admission process as smoothly as imaginable. Every thing she promised to us was delivered. Never an excuse or a reason why things couldn't be done. The nursing staff was always working with my dad, be it speech therapy or moving him daily from his bed to a chair and back. Always with a smile, I must add.Rabbi Fried, the Chaplin took special care to always visit my father. He was always in contact and made us feel someone was caring for him when we weren't their in person. The family has never had to make use of a facility like this previously, and we were a little unsure of what to expect at first, but Select delivered. Needless to say we are grateful for all they have done.
The five star rating is not sufficient for this facility. The entire staff, from the medical directors, the CEO Oleg Rivikin, the nursing and support staff, the technicians, and the facility management worked together to keep my father alive under the most extreme and difficult conditions.I want to specify the CEO's personal involvement with my father. Oleg requested to be my father's "patient advocate" during the time my father was in Select Specialty. He came by regularly to check on him and was always available to us for any concerns we may have had. When possible, they would even make exceptions to the visiting rules and restrictions, so long as it did not compromise the functioning of the entire unit. Those accommodations had one and only one focus - the well being of the patient - not the schedule of the family. The overall attitude and philosophy of the unit is to do anything and everything that benefited the patient's comfort and chances at recovery. At the same time, they gave realistic assessments of the patients condition, and when hope was still possible, optimism and encouragement. As an observant Jew, the staff was understanding and helpful to the best of their ability regarding issues of Shabbos, however, there too the focus remained always what was best for the patient. There is a bikur cholim room and some available services and the Rabbis in charge will do all they can to work with the family. They consider themselves an integral component of the overall staff. The Chaplain, Rabbi Joel Fried, was in constant contact with me regarding Shabbos plans and was personally responsible for arranging our being able to visit on Shabbos by interfacing with the security and nursing personnel. As a family, we are forever grateful for the care and consideration, compassion and concern that embraced all of us, especially our father, during a time of great stress and difficulty. They are truly something Special.Aron B. Tendler
Everyone here is very professional and taking excellent care of my brother. I am grateful for them and the hard work they do.
our beloved special brother Abraham suffered a massive stroke and was in critical condition for a long time, we r so grateful that we made the decision to select "select specialty hospital", there is no way to write with words the devotion from the entire staff which includes all nurses and social workers and all of the therapist which provided for him the entire day [and night] .And also big thanks to Rabbi/Chaplain Joel Fried for coordinating everything!!!
Our father Mr. Greenberg was in this place after he came home from the hospital, but still needed special care. We felt so safe and calm as we saw how nice and patient all the nurses were to our father. Especially we need to thank the chaplain Rabbi Fried for being here for us in this time of need. Whatever we needed he made sure to provide, with such great passion and care. THANK YOU AGAIN Rabbi Fried and all the special doctors and nurses!!!
I would like to share my experience what we had for a couple of months at my father was staying here... My father was taken care from the nurses and doctors with so much love and care.... We felt so relaxed knowing that our father is being looked after and taking care of. And a special thanks to the chaplain Rabbi Fried. Who was so much there for us. What ever we needed halp .. Thank you to the entire staff
Horrible service if you do not want to see your family member die, look for another different help on this site those who call specialists do nothing for the patients they do not take special exams the nurses do not provide good service or help the patients the people who come to this hospital arrive to die there
My dad was admitted into Select Specialty after being intubated for a little over one month. The facility was clean and, once allowed, the visitation hours were reasonable. The nurses were professional and caring, especially Romy, Jonas, and Heather. The respiratory team, especially Mathew and Marianna, were knowledgeable and encouraging. The physical therapists Kim and Melissa were patient with my dad and knew how to motivate him to try more and more each day. The customer relations team was excellent; Maha and Maria kept my dad busy by visiting and checking in on him daily. They communicated with my step-mom and ensured that we had the information we needed. Maha and Maria made my dad feel like family by advocating for him to make sure that he got the proper care, treatment, and that all his needs were met.I would like to thank the staff at Select Specialty Northeast NJ for ensuring that my dad received the best care after being intubated. It is with their help, patience, and motivation that he was able to begin the trachea trials and begin the road to breathing without the ventilator.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
