List of Helen Skolnick Md's Reviews
All of the negative comments are spot on! I stopped going there years ago because Skolnick made a mistake with blood tests and tried to say it was my fault. Her nurse yelled at my 5 year old for crying over the skin test. The whole experience was a nightmare.
Dr. Skolnick has helped me over the last many years with oral allergy syndrome as well as other allergies. I highly recommend.
I am giving one star as I cannot choose no star. My son has been a patient of Dr.Skolnick for over several years. A few days back I received a letter from her saying that she will no longer treat my son and I have one month to find another doctor and yes, she did NOT give me a reason why? I think the reason is because we missed an appointment. Note my son has life threatening allergies and a reliable doctor would never do, NEVER. If she has a valid reason for not treating my son, I would expect her to call me and discuss it with me. Best thing is that I did find a good allergist for my son, thanks to all my friends. When I called Princeton and Asthma to transfer my son's records they asked me to pay for it...SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS Doctor. It is crazy how they make you wait for hours for an appointment and if we miss an appointment they stop treating. I am taking this as a blessing in disguise.
We have always had a great experience with this office and Dr. Skolnick.
My 8 year old was referred to this group by a GI doc for her MANY food allergies. My major peeve is that she ignored my daughter when she was asking questions and speaking and looked to me for all the answers. I had to tell her point blank "she knows the answers to your questions, she's the one experiencing the allergic reactions." Better communication with my child from then on. I will take her back for a follow up visit since she seems to know her stuff, but she needs to listen to her PATIENTS and if clarification is needed, the parent.
I am so thankful that I got in to see Dr. Skolnick. My daughter has a severe egg allergy and my pediatrician could only advise us to get an epi pen. Dr. Skolnick helped us figure out and egg free diet and put our minds at ease that we can handle this allergy.
My children have been a patient of Dr. Skolnick's for years. Dr. Skolnick is very caring for patients & family members. She has changed my families life! Thank you!
It is clear Dr. Skolnik is an intelligent doctor who thoroughly understands pediactric allergies. Unfortunately, we felt like there was zero personalized care, and my son had to undergo at least 20 skin pricks on his back (age 1-4), about twice per year. Why go through so much?? Why not just repeat the necessary tests? She does not do a good job of listening, and cuts you off in the middle of your sentences. SHE had to cancel an appointment of ours TWICE...and since it takes MONTHS to get an appointment, we were 7 months "overdue" for tests. We did leave her practice, and paid a stiff charge to get our OWN records.
I wish I had read these reviews prior to visiting her. All the negative reviews apply correctly. Staff is rude. Dr. Skolnick more rude than the staff. Horrible bed side manor. She took a lot of information and did not give any feedback. When I asked any question her obviously annoyed consistent reply was " I'm the doctor, I make the call". I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Dr. Skolnick is patient and thorough. Her staff is friendly and helpful. We did not wait at all for our appointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
