Dr. Melman is very professional and Knowledgeable. She has an outstanding bedside manner. As a skilled surgeon she spent time with me at every office visit. I never felt rushed and she explained everything in easy to understand terms. She is tops in her field and I give her my highest recommendation.

Dr. Melman is kind, patient and caring. Also, extremely intelligent and professional. She takes the time to explain any question that I might have and never makes me feel stupid regardless of the question. She absolutely saved my life and I’m eternally grateful. I’ve sent 3 coworkers to her practice and specifically ask for her. If she ever left this practice I’d follow her anywhere to ensure she continues to care for me. Dr. Lori Melman performed an EXCELLENT and I do mean EXCELLENT surgery on both of my Inguinal hernias on July 12, 2022. I do have to admit my wife and I were frightened of what to expect or how long the recovery would take. However she put me at ease with thoroughly explaining the procedure, and making me feel at ease. and after she performed the surgery she checked up on me. I recovered fairly quickly also. I was walking around within the following week of surgery and engaging in activities. I have a co-worker that had Hernia surgery with a different doctor and it took him 2 months to recover and he was younger than I was. I want to thank Dr Melman for her Professionalism, her skills and the loving attention she provided. I would strongly recommend her to anyone who needs hernia repair.

Dr. Melman was incredible in every facet of my hernia repairs. For background, I was referred to Dr. Melman with 4 hernias. She repaired all 4 of my hernias in 1 surgery using minimally invasive laparoscopy. To my knowledge, there are very few surgeons who are able to do this in the world. Pre-op, she explained to me all the details of the CT imaging. She spent nearly an hour with me detailing the surgery, explaining to me the types of meshes, the protocols after surgery, etc. Very meticulous, thorough, and knowledgeable. Dr. Melman is very polite and kind. Not to mention, an unusually great listener. The surgery went very smoothly, I was in and out the same day. Two months later, I am back on my feet and exercising again with no discomfort. Very grateful for everything she and her staff have done for me. I am ever gracious and appreciative of her efforts. Truly a world-class leader in her field. Arguably the best physician I have ever visited. Thank you so much, Dr. Melman!

I'd been suffering from a chronic and steady pain in the lower left of my abdomen for over 3 years. At annual physicals (another medical practice), they had no idea what it was...even after x-rays, ultrasound and echos. I advised my new urologist who suggested it may be small hernia and I should get it checked. Dr. Melman accurately diagnosed it in minutes...at the first visit and scheduled the mesh surgery. Immediately after surgery (even still affected by anesthesia), my abdominal area was firm and the pain was gone. Recovery pain level never reached beyond 4-5 (out of 10)...pain meds were prescribed and obtained, but not needed. follow up visits just got better and better and 5 weeks post-op the original pain is completely gone, abdominal area is firm, and I am sleeping better than I have in 3 years. Dr. Melman is absolutely outstanding! If you are having such a condition, need an accurate diagnoses and successful procedure, I strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment.

This is my appreciation for Dr. Melman. I think she did an outstanding job. I had a hernia on one side 20 years ago, and after getting out of surgery that was performed by a different doctor, it hurt worse than when I went in for several weeks after. Recently, I had a hernia on the other side and Dr. Melman did the surgery and when I woke up I was not in any pain. I felt as though I never even had the surgery and now two months later, I feel great with no issues and it’s as if I never had surgery. She was recommended to me by a New Brunswick Police Officer and now I highly recommend her as well! Her office is quick and efficient, within minutes she greeted me and I was in and out with no wait. She did an excellent job, an A1+ for her professionalism and workmanship.

Dr. Melman is an excellent skilled surgeon and an outstanding communicator. She thoroughly explains the process pre and post surgery and you can expect to be treated as a priority and with professionalism, by her and her staff. Dr. Melman's expertise begins before the surgery with suggestions on how you can prepare for the procedure so that your recovery time and discomfort will be minimized. Additionally the entire process, from pre-testing thru the surgery and discharge, is handled seamlessly by the staff at the RWJUH system and the Same Day Surgery unit. Those nurses really deserve a lot of credit and they have my gratitude. After you go home you can expect thorough follow ups from Dr. Melman and by the time you go on your way for good, you'll know you were treated by a skilled and caring surgeon, surrounded by excellent staff in an excellent hospital system.

Dr.Lora Melmam, is a life saver. Having her figuring out why I could not swallow after having lapBand done by another Physician in 2009. everything was great till I had a car hit me in 2015. After that I was having issues with keeping any food and liquids in. After Several Doctors and no answers. 2018 after gaining nearly all my weight back and NOT eating. Dr. Melmam had me have several test. She found scar tissue in my esophagus. The band needed removed. Dr. Melmam removed my band and said, Pat two months the scar tissue will resolve. Two months too the day I was able to eat a healthy meal again! Months later we decided to have the Sleeve done. July 2020 during covid we did it!! Now March 2021, 65 plus pounds down and feeling great. All my LABS are perfect! Then countless surgeries from the accident. And only PT for my exercise. Dr. Melmam, saved me TWICE!! Finding my issue with esophagus and saving me mentally get to my weight loss! She is fabulous!
