I believe we received an incorrect diagnoses of gout by Dr. Alikhan, Mariam. Instructed by MD to drink tart cherry juice daily and call back if worse. Went for a second opinion at The Cardiovascular Care Group of Westfield. Diagnosed with Reynaud’s syndrome, which we completely agree with and is consistent with symptoms. 2nd doctor does not agree with a gout diagnosis. We won’t have to buy unnecessary medications, suffer side effects from medications, and drink daily tart cherry juice which does nothing good, but is bad for your teeth and blood sugar. Yuck!

I saw Megid years ago for a psoriatic arthritis consult. Received paperwork ahead of time saying I should expect my consult to last at least an hour. Ha ha. He did a halfhearted palpating of my hands & knees then said he felt I didn’t suffer from any rheumatism, despite a family history of PsA. I saw a competent rheumatologist afterwards & ended up HLA-B27 positive, with a dx of both psoriatic arthritis & ankylosing spondylitis. I fought like hell for my insurance company to not pay this guy. Sorry to see he’s still practicing & pulling the same stuff with other patients. Funny how they’re all also women!

From my first visit until today, my experience with Dr. Megid has been a horrible experience. I’ve never met a Dr. who from the beginning, did not want nothing to do with me. Every appt I’ve had with him so far, he has not looked at my notes, has never wanted to listen to me, has no compassion at all. I would never recommend anyone to see him. I now have to go get a second opinion because he basically dismissed what’s going on with me like it doesn’t matter.

Horrible experience when a doctor has your blood work and asks, "What can I do for you today!?" He is condescending and arrogant. I saw another physician in this practice who did an evaluation and blood work done in Dec. 2020. She is no longer with the group. I tried for two months with no follow up. After reading the blood work & finding out I have celiac disease on my own, I finally get a virtual visit, and all he wants to do is trash his old partner & question her logic for running a celiac/gluten panel in the blood work. Well he is obviously not as experienced, skilled, or trained as well as she was. You can google search and find out why she ran this panel. Another one who doesn't read literature. Lucky you have Pharma and diagnostic tests to practice. Your a joke. NEJM or JAMA for starters and maybe Journal of Rheumatology, or Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases. What do they call the doctor who graduated last in their Medical School? "Doctor" He is horrible stay away!
