List of Akhtar Hossain's Reviews
Dr. Hussein treated my son for several years. Did not take insurance and was paid promptly, For two years, I literally begged the Doctor to intervene because my son's psychiatric issues interfered with his ability to maintain his health properly. He required involuntary intervention to address his medical needs. Dr. Hussain would have no part of it, although I implored him that it was necessary intervention. He impressed me that he preferred to sit in his office and collect $150/13 minute session and write our continuous prescriptions of controlled substances. The extra mile was not something he would do. NOW, my son is dead from complications of the medical problems that I implored Dr. Hussain to intervene and treat involuntarily. Ill never forgive this callous cash register of a doctor. He could have helped us and didn't,
Dr. Hossain is the best doctor I’ve ever had. He has helped me so much through my struggles and truly cares. This is hard to find in doctors- someone who remembers you and takes notice. I highly recommend him for patients with a range of needs.
Dr. Hossain is awesome!! My son recently started to see this doctor for severe depression and its just amazing to see how he was able to change his perception on life. He even calls on the weekends to make sure my son is ok. My family is very grateful to this doctor for his dedication and compassion.
Dr. Hossain has been my doctor for almost 10 years on and off. He’s compassionate and understanding, willing to schedule you in last minute if you need him. He tries his very hardest to help you and expects you do your part of the work as well. He has gone above and beyond to accommodate in my times of need, I can’t speak highly enough of him.
Worst doctor, he makes patients addicted to drugs his license should be taken away and a full investigation should be sent to his office, he’s a doctor feel good only will give you prescriptions if you have the money
This doctor really does care about his patients. If you're truly open with him and listen, he will give you 100% back. He is not just a good doctor, but a good person. He deserves the 5 stars. He has always been there for me and has helped me in ways I didn't think he would when I started. I've seen him for over a year so I know him very well and I honestly recommend him to anyone who wants to receive help and get better!
I’ve been seeing this doctor for 5 years now. I also work for a doctor. After reading the reviews clearly people don’t realize that insurance companies Are the ones benefiting from the claims while leaving the doctors with sometimes less than 25% of the procedure... blame the insurance companies. Not the doctor. As for patients who have complained about medication being taken away.... if you are not sticking to the plan and taking your medication properly he won’t take it away, which I know many people who do not follow suit. If you take the time to listen to what he says he is an excellent doctor. He has a great sense of humor and really cares about his patients. But you have to meet him halfway. No one can cure you but yourself. No one said it is easy but the treatment is a dual effort between the doctor and the patient. The biggest problem is that some people expect fast results. It doesn’t work like that. There are ups and downs to the road of recovery. Sometimes you move forward 5 feet and then take 2 steps back. It’s a gradual process and I wish more people could understand that. In the 5 years I’ve been seeing this doctor. I have had ups and downs but I have moved forward to a much better place. I had a few bumps in the road but I was patient and I’m only human. Depression. Addiction. Not easy stuff but if you have the will power and the patience this Dr is the right one for you. Like I mentioned before treatment is not one sided. I’ve worked for many doctors over the years and I’ve been seeing psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists for over 30 years now and I’ve been with him the longest and he has provided me the best tools to get better.
BEWARE!!!!! Not a doctor but a drug dealer. He'll wait until you're in a good place then pull the rug out from underneath you, leaving the patient stranded with no medication. I swear to God he told my friend, "He better find what he needs on the street!"
Been with him 5+ years. He is a great Dr & person.
He cares about his patients! Yes, he expects up front payment, but this is the model most psychiatrists use now, because insurance doesn't cover psych or substance abuse anymore, and he's dealing with people who are shady and unreliable. If he didn't accept cash only, he would never get paid. Otherwise, I can trust him to make smart, informed decisions about my medications.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
