I had sinus surgery in 1999 and 2000 with Dr. Bortnicker that made a remarkable improvement in my symptoms - both immediately and for decades later. I credit Dr. Bortnicker with my finally being able to smell newly cut grass and lots of other smells I never could smell before, and I finally could taste subtle flavors. I could breathe so much better afterwards. Plus no more snoring, no more sinus headaches, and no more bad breath. Thanks Dr. Bortnicker!

Dr. Bortniker was very attentive to my issues and listened to all of my concerns. His treatment was effective and I would highly recommend to others. The office staff was friendly and efficient.

I went into doctor Bortniker nervous scared and helpless as to what was going on with me, being post Covid/strep. Yes I had both at the same time!!! My body was a mess! Also was struggling from acid reflux for 6 months. I did not even have to tell him anything he answered all of my symptoms and diagnosed me in 15 minutes. My saliva glands weren’t working and I had a bad dry mouth. And a clicking sensation from gerd. With medication he gave me, it gave me relief after about a week. And I continue to slowly get better everyday. Gerd does weird things! The clicking deff sucks but don’t be scared !!! He made me feel safe and made sure I was ok! Truly the best. I’m so glad I found him!

Dr.Botniker is hands down the best ENT in NJ. I had a persistent cough for a year after tonsil surgery from another ENT, and that ENT kept telling me he “saw nothing”. One visit with Dr.Botniker and he immediately saw the issue and prescribed the appropriate medication. How can 1 ENT fail to see something that Dr.Botniker resolved in 15 mins? Highly recommend this man. He’s so knowledgeable

DO NOT go to this man. My uncle was sent to him in 2009 for what we found out was stage 4 oral cancer. My uncle had a mass in his neck. He was horrid. As time went on with my uncle, he needed a trach to be able to breathe as the tumor had gotten so large it cut off his ability to swallow and breath normally. This man actually came in to my uncle's room at the hospital with the oncologist and said "good news, we can take the trach out." OMG it would have killed him! He would have choked to death! By the time he was able to see another ENT we found out that the tumor could have been removed and his life probably could have been saved. Instead the tumor ruptured and he suffered another 10 days in hospice before he died. He was only in his 50s. There is a piece of our family missing that can never be replaced. This doctor is a monster and is lucky we didn't sue him and ask for his medical license to be removed.

I became a patient of Dr. Bortniker over 10 years ago when I was experiencing one sinus infection after another. My GP suggested I see an ENT specialist. Dr. Bortniker’s name came up multiple times in online searches and through personal recommendations. He carefully listened to my health issues and performed sinus surgery which not only relieved my symptoms but has stop them from reoccurring. Recently, I developed a congestion and cough which was not related to anything. Not COVID, not a cold. Not a lung issue. Dr. Bortniker was pretty sure it was chronic rhinitis but he first suggested a visit to the allergist to rule that out. And when that came back negative, he was certain and prescribed medication which gone a long way to made my cough and congestion disappear. Dr. Bortniker always takes the time to listen to you and to explain what is going on, the course of treatment, and answers any questions. I have never felt rushed or left with questions. The office staff is equally good. I have never had a scheduling or billing issue. I would not hesitate to give Dr. Bortniker my highest recommendation.

This is a delayed review and chose to write it because I'm still dealing with the aftermath. I would not recommend this doctor, not even to an enemy. He made my ear bleed and gave me an ear infection. He had the audacity to try to charge me for it until I sternly called him out. Had he turned the lights on so that he could see what he was doing, perhaps it wouldn't have happened. His bedside manner was horrible, when I explained my situation or what I had gone thru, he told me I was lying and that it was impossible. I had gone in just to have my Uvula removed during the beginning of Covid, for fear of my situation. Being it was an inpatient (quick) surgery and he needed to make more money, he states that I have a deviated septum and that I needed surgery. (Note: no prior issues with my breathing nor throat) I took his advice and have been miserable ever since. The only advice I can give is when you are googling for a doctor, don't go with what states as being the "Best", as I did, you'll be sorry. Only use those that are recommended by friends and family. I can go on forever about this office, how dusty, unsanitary and unclean it is but I'll leave that up to the next person who fails to heed this warning.

I was hearing echoes of damn near everything that was said to me and I googled, "best ENTs nearby," and Doctor Bortniker's name popped up. What I was hearing sounded like two sound tracks playing at the same time but not in sync with each other. I was given an immediate appointment and the doctor quickly diagnosed a microscopic hole in my left eardrum. Visions of MRIs and scalpels danced in my mind and then the doctor prescribed ear drops! Well, I didn't think that was the answer, but I filled the prescription and in two days...it worked! No operation, no MRIs, no Cochlear Implant. Just a small bottle of ear drops. I've been looking for an ENT for years, one that could think out of the box. I found Doctor Bortniker. It gets better: After the microscopic hole thing was fixed, I asked him about my right ear. I've been having problems with that for a decade and this is the problem that caused the search for a doctor that can think out of the box. Loud noises hit me like I've been punched in the head. After testing my hearing and seeing tests from the past he thought I was suffering from Cochlear Sensitivity, my brain was having a hard time processing sounds. And he had a medication for that! Ten years of asking damn near every doctor about this and I finally find a doctor who has an answer. And it's working! I've been taking the medication for almost three months and the ear is clearing up. It gets even better: I told him about blood pressure meds causing my legs and feet to ache constantly, the symptoms mimicking neuropathy. He told me the medication I was taking for my right ear might help with those symptoms. Symptoms that I've asked other doctors about for about seven years. I've been told time and time again that there is no medication for this condition. Well...since I started taking that medication the aches have subsided. Coincidence? Or a doctor that can think out of the box? I highly recommend Doctor Bortniker.

I have had an issue with my throat for years. The reason for a constant cough to the point of hacking was missed by several specialists. Swallow experts , x rays and endoscope examinations failed to provide an answer. Dr. Bortniker, looked , diagnosed, and prescribed after a quick but thorough exam. With in a week the problem lessened and became not just tolerable but for the most part absent. So far a month latter the throat is still quiet and the hacking has given way to an occasional slight cough. I can not speak for others but for me, he did a great job after other very qualified professionals tried and failed.
