Jumana Chatiwala's Online Review Report Card

I couldn’t not ask for a more thorough, highly competent Dr. than Dr. Chatiwala. She is the BEST. While brilliant in her field,she is beyond a caring Dr. with a terrific bedside manner. The entire office are all very friendly~ always a smile and a warm Hello. They do not see the easiest of conditions in their patients, and yet remain calm, and understanding to the stresses of their patients and their patients caregivers. Feel very fortunate we have such a Top-Doc here right here in Sparta.

Dr Chatiwala started out to be my hematologist and then became my oncologist. After my cancer was diagnosed and I started my first treatment I was away on vacation and I was as sick as a dog, Being in another state with friends, she would take all the phone calls and she would call and check on me and even after I got home she would check on me. I feel Dr Chatiwala truly cares about her patients. I personally feel the whole office is wonderful, friendly,caring, and very efficient. When you need to go to an oncology office, such as this, you’re scared and you feel alone and have so many questions to ask. You need to feel safe and you want to feel your doctor genuinely cares, and Dr Chatiwala does. The bottom line, my life is in their hands and so I trust them with my life.

Dr. Chatiwala diagnosed my step-father with liver cancer at Newton Hospital. We actually never met her face-to-face. She called my mother late at night and they spoke on the phone only. Very little information was given. Very poor communication. She has a heavy accent and talks fast. It was hard for my mother to understand her. She had to ask her to repeat what she was saying. Communication was very rushed. Chatiwala tried to put a drain in for the bile duct - unsuccessful. She then referred to a specialist in Morristown who said the cancer was so advanced he would not have even tried that. We never received the results of the full body cavity MRI to understand whether the cancer had spread. We were never told what stage cancer it was. He died a week later. From the reviews, I am guess that she is better in person but dealing with her via phone was very difficult and stressful.

Dr Chatiwala is excellent. She is very kind and sensitive to patient s needs. I saw her for hematology twice and was very very impressed by her knowledge, courtesy, sensitivity to my needs. I very highly recommend Dr. Chatiwala

I have had a few visits with Dr Chatiwala over the years and each time I left there feeling comfortable with my situation and well informed. The staff is very courteous and quick with what they do. I am very pleased with this office.

Everyone, from the office staff, to the nurses, to Dr. Chatiwala, treated me with respect and I felt like they genuinely were concerned about my welfare. Although I was nervous, this being my first visit, I was made to feel like everyone cared and I was put at ease.

The office staff, nurses, techs and Dr. Chatiwala are all so helpful and friendly. Dr. Chatiwala takes the time to explain everything in layman's terms so you know what your treatment will include.

She listens and advises in a compassionate and very comforting way. She talks to me like a human, unlike so many pretentious doctors I've seen. She takes her time and treats me with respect and kindness. She is someone I could be friend with!

First visit created a great first impression. I like her conservative approach and that she took her time and explained why she felt the tests she ordered were necessary.

Very courteous and professional office personnel. Nurse was friendly, professional, and thorough in a complete review of case history, medications, and family history. Dr. Chatiwala was extremely patient and thorough in explaining the thought processes that had been explored and utilized during the course of my father's recent hospitalization. A thorough explanation of treatment plan , and options, moving forward was also provided. Left the office feeling very comfortable.
