List of Bhanu Iyer's Reviews
She is very attentive and helpful, she is always aware of what you need and does what is necessary to solve your problem
I’m surprised by the negative reviews honestly, Dr Iyer and her staff are so kind and compassionate, I’ve never had any negative experience whatsoever. I had seen another Endo prior to her that didn’t seem to care about my concerns, but Dr Iyer addressed everything and is constantly on top of my Hashimoto’s disorder and metabolic issues. It’s the best care you can find for these issues in this area of NJ. I drive 35 minutes out of my way just to see her because good care is very important to me. So don’t believe these negative reviews, they seem more directed to the Atlantic Health org/system rather than the doctor. She’s worth the trip I am very grateful!
Great Dr., She Explained my results to me in a very caring manner, answered all my questions, when I did my biopsy she explained what she was doing and made sure I was comfortable, she answered all my questions after my procedure and returned my calls within a couple of hours, the staff is excellent, very friendly and always willing to help
0/0 Bhanu Iyer MD (supposedly an Endocrinologist) refused to see me, after driving 27 minutes 1 way for an appointment I previously booked 3 week prior, because I booked through the Atlantic Health’s MyChart. I booked it with the assistance of an Atlantic Health phone operator whom referred me to this specific doctor for my specific healthcare needs. The receptionist over the phone said, I should have called 1st to make sure the doctor will see me for pre-diabetes. NOTE: 1) I called several time and even left a message and did not get a call back. 2) In Iyer’s bio, it clearly states “diabetes” so I thought this was very odd to refuse a patient who’s coming for line of field. It’s hard enough to discover you are prediabetic, let alone have a doctor refuse to see you on your scheduled apt, after taking off 1/2 day off work, I was on time, drove ~30 minutes, and in 2° freezing weather! I was absolutely shocked and taken back. I called to make sure I parked in the correct lot and the receptionist said, “because I booked through my chart, the doctor will not see you.” Absolutely bizarre! This doctor should not be practicing, needs a reality check and everyone should be aware of such a person who may be biased or prejudice or flat out a doctor for all the wrong reasons! I made a complaint with their risk management department and I hope everyone does the same in matters like this so others do not endure this waste of time and distasteful disrespect.
EDIT: within two hours of posting the review below, someone called and was able to reschedule my second canceled appointment within 2 days….I’m grateful, but would have appreciated that same accommodation originally. Don’t bother attempting to make an appointment with Dr. Iyer if you want to be seen with any urgency. Her office has cancelled on me twice now with no offer to reschedule sooner than a month out. God forbid my test results, that are waiting patiently to be reviewed, reveal something concerning that needs to be addressed immediately. There are so many doctors in the Atlantic health network, I can’t imagine how anyone who is so negligent about keeping appointments manages to sustain a patient roster. Maybe she simply doesn’t care?
0/0 would not recommend. I made an appointment 1.5 months in advance through myChart (only made it online because I could not get through to the office via phone) and a week before they call to let me know that Dr. Iyer does not specialize in my symptoms and gave me the number for another office that does not have appointments for four months out. When I expressed how disappointing it was that I would now have to wait months to see another doctor after already waiting all this time the receptionist basically shrugged it off and said yeah we don’t really check myChart…
Dr.Iyer is the most meticulous and caring endocrinologist that I ever met. I was able to notice that she is extremely knowledgeable , caring and updated on the subject treated. Would recommend her to all family and friends knowing that they are in good hands.
Dr. Iyer is great. I have always been able to schedule appointments quickly, and the doctor has answered all of my questions and addressed all my concerns thoroughly.
One of the most unorganized offices ever. I had my appointment moved once because the day before I was supposed to go because the dr. was unavailable. It was rescheduled for the 1/8/21. I just got a call saying they don't address what I'm going there for so they cancelled my appointment for tomorrow. They knew why I was going months ago when I made the appointment to begin with so to cancel me last minute is extremely rude and unprofessional. DON'T GO HERE!
Dr. Iyer came recommended by our surgeon and she was great! She took time to listen and was very thorough. My husband got blood work done on a Tuesday morning and by Wednesday morning she was calling to discuss the results. We are very happy with her effectiveness and kindness as well!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
