Leslie A. Hess's Online Review Report Card

At first I really liked Dr. Hess. Little things came up that I didn't like, but wasn't enough for me to switch docs mid treatment. My first appointment his internet was down so he couldn't review my xray. Come back in 2 weeks. Couldn't see anything in the xray off to get an MRI. I had that done the same day . Come back in 2 weeks. I had torn ligaments and bruised bones. During this visit the doc was very sweet and understanding, but this is when the Ice Queen aka his wife/office manager brings another patient into my exam room because this woman knows my voice. Can you say HIPAA violation? At this point he puts me out on medical leave from work. Okay. This is really when things start going down. Going back every 2 weeks. They charged me to fill out the paperwork to be submitted to my work and to NJ short term disability. Okay they have bills to pay. Keep in mind I can be a very understanding person. After 6 weeks out of work the doc now sends me back to work. Out of the boot on Wednesday and back to work on Monday. I work in a warehouse on my feet for 10 hours a day. He tells me the only way to know if you are better is to just do it. Okay what do I know. Monday go to work and a few hours I'm in tears from the pain. I leave and call the office from the parking lot. Can't see me until late the next day. At this appointment the doc asks me how I'm doing on my prescription. I inform he NEVER prescribed one. His response? "My bad" He gives me a soft brace and tells me to try going to work the rest of the week and he will see me again next week. At this point I'm so upset. I have been in pain for months now. I went and got a second opinion. She has sent me for a new MRI. NOTHING has healed! Now I'm scheduled for surgery. At least 6 more weeks out of work! I feel they just milked me coming in for payments from my insurance. Because I have been out of work for so long I will not be protected under FMLA. Yes, that means I will lose my job while I'm out recovering from the surgery. If the doctor had just performed the surgery in the beginning I would be heading back to work, but as I say that I think I should be happy that he didn't because God only knows how badly that would have turned out.

Got up and left after waiting an hour to be seen! Wish i could charge for my time wasted.

Very disappointed with the results of procedure. The toe looks terrible.

Dr Hess was highly recommended to me by my family members who have been seeing him for many years, he was exactly as they described. Friendly, professional, remembers you're details, now my whole family goes to him.

I have been a patient since 2011 no problems and he gets right to the problem

He's a nice guy. His office staff isn't friendly and the wait times are long. I've had to wait over an hour each time I've had an appointment. He cut my toe multiple times in the same place with the electric file tool and when I checked it out he was really patronizing about asking if he hurt me. And then his tone changed when he saw that he actually had hurt me. I was bleeding a little. He was friendly otherwise though. I wouldn't recommend him to somebody I liked. Probably somebody I didn't like.

Dr Hess is the nicest guy. Very pleasant, listens to your problem and is very helpful. Explains the problem, finds solutions. I have used him for years to make my orthotics.
