Dr Desai was recommended to me by my coworker but I find him not wanting to be bothered . I had trigger finger at the thumb and when ever I write or open bottles it would hurt since my job requires this , I need time off , he would only authorize 1 week and would not listen to my job description . Gave me cortisone shot and sent me on my way. I end up getting a second opinion and since then got my surgery for trigger finger release. Gotten 4 week after surgery to recover. Normally trigger finger is not a big deal and recovery should only be 1 week but due to the nature of my work and the location of the trigger finger , I was not able to work to fully of my duties. Dr Desai needs to be more empathetic and listen to pt needs. I will not recommend him to anyone
Dr. Desai has been nothing but an amazing doctor for me. Because of my dupatrens contracture I've had many surgeries with Dr. Desai. Always very kind thoughtful and explains everything. I've never been rushed not once. Answers every question.Thank you again Dr. Desai
If possible I would give Dr. Desai a minus score. I am a fellow physician and just completed treatment for breast cancer in 2019. For years I had occasional paroxysmal tachycardia, however, with age the attacks became more frequent. I visited Dr, Desai's office and was told that ablation would permanently resolve my issue and that he has done many. After the procedure my HR was around 60 (from~80/min) and I felt very tired. Nobody followed up from the office and I therefore assumed that all is well. Three months later I accidentally found out that I have a complete AV block and must have a pacemaker. So I went from believing that one of my medical issues would be solved to having Dr. Desai adding to my medical problems. Again, no follow up and no apology. My 14 year old daughter had a wrist injury skateboarding while we were on vacation over summer. She complained of pain and loss of motion for a few weeks after the incident. I didn't realize the significance of her injury until we saw Dr. Desai. Luckily for us, his office was very accommodating in making the appointment. She had a series of x-rays in his office which was very efficient. Upon reviewing the films Dr. Desai explained in detail the severity of her injury. He was very attentive, friendly, and made us feel confident in his treatment plan. Dr. Desai saw us several times afterwards and monitored her progress closely. A few months later and she is doing great - full motion in the wrist and back to skating (slightly more cautious). I cannot recommend Dr. Desai enough as his knowledge and professionalism is second to none. Thank you, sir, for getting my girl back in action!
I came in with a confirmed broken elbow. Dr. Desai never examined my arm and never asked me to move it. He said he didn't think I needed surgery but would order a CT scan in case. I had my follow up appointment after the scan with Dr. Desai virtually. He told me that he remembered that I had good mobility (again, he never checked) and determined I did not need surgery. After feeling uncomfortable with his initial assessment and no exam, I had a second opinion (with Dr. Rose - an amazing surgeon) scheduled immediately. Dr. Rose actually examined my arm and realized that I could not supinate at all and scheduled me for surgery that week. Luckily I listened to my gut and not Dr. Desai. My bone was actually so displaced he couldn't even move it during surgery until after he put the screws in). If I would have waited he would have had to remove the top of my bone to get my mobility back. 0 stars for a rushed visit and no examination = negligence
i had an appointment with dr desai (hb office) to get a cortisone injection in both wrists for osteo arthritis when my hands were getting weak, and my grip was practically non existant. dr desai told me the injection would sting, so i prepared myself; but nothjing could have prepared me for the pain. if i was a screamer, you probably could have heard me in laguna beach. but i just held my breath and then prayed out loud for it to stop. it seemed like it took 5 minutes but probably no more t han 30 seconds but during that time i could not believe the pain! my hand bled profusely, and the pain shot up my arm, and into my shoulder as he hit a nerve (confirmed by my cardiologist when he looked at the bruise it left) when dr desai asked if i wanted the other hand done i refuled. he told me the pain would get worse and it did i couldnt use my left hand for the next 24 hours. its been a week and the pain persists. i believe a nerve is damaged, in my hand. i can barely use it without pain.and no! i would not reccomend this doctor for hand injections
We visited for my wife's hand pain (tendonitis). The doctor was totally inattentive to the patient, showing no interest. As if he was willing to move out of the room or to the next patient. Seemed really unprofessional. No proper guideline, I understand tendonitis may not have any specific treatment, but the doctor did not properly lay out the solution/treatment that we should follow.
Truly my favorite doctor. He listens and is very patient and addresses all of your concerns. He has multiple offices so it's convenient. I needed surgery on my hand and he was the best. I even had some issues the weekend after (pain) and he called me personally to make sure I was fine and help. Totally recommend.
We saw Dr. Desai for my husband's recent shoulder injury. He is not only a caring physician but an extremely intelligent surgeon that makes accurate diagnosis and recommends the best option for the patient. He is not going to give you a bunch of fluff and try to convince you to do what he wants, instead he is honest, straightforward and presents the facts and recommends the correct treatment... As someone who works in the medical field, I am extremely picky with our doctors. And Dr. Desai is very professional and truly care about his patients, a breath of fresh air in today's healthcare environment...I trust him with all family's care.Thank you again!
Dr. Desai is the most arrogant doctor I've ever visited in my life. I listed all of my injuries on the pre-interview paperwork. He immediately had an attitude and wasn't willing to listen to anything I had to say ! Even though I explained my injuries setting up the appointment and the very polite management tried to counsel me on the problem they agreed that he was qualified to treat the injuries I listed, all he wanted to do was move on to another patient and actually stated to me numerous times !I got up and walked out of the interview he was such an *sshole I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy !I have never been so insulted in my life by anyone . This office visit was so ridiculous I can't believe he will still be employed after talk to The CEO of Newport Orthopedics in California !!!Don't let any previous positive reviews fool you I give positive reviews when deserved !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
