List of Joseph C. Tauro's Reviews
Thorough, straight forward and fun.
First off reading the negative review regarding having knee surgery maybe the problem was because you were overweight and caused your own issues of a horrible recovery. I had not one but two surgeries performed by Dr. Tauro. The first surgery was a rotator cuff the second surgery was tennis elbow. Both surgeries were successful Thank you Dr. Tauro. Now for the other review for the one talking about what Dr. Tauro is typing on his computer (quote) Dr. Tauro is writing what he feels like typing (you are so wrong my friend). Dr. Tauro is very precise regarding typing his report on an individual regarding your surgery. From there on every returning visit again very precise on his reports how you are progressing, what kind of pain are you feeling etc. And may I add he will recommend a MRI or whatever test he feels you may need. He is not a doctor who tells you straight out you need surgery in fact he tries not to go down that road. He will try cortisone shots or whatever treatment he could try before surgery. As far as his staff Kay, Donna And Judy are wonderful, very polite and I am always treated like a friend not a patient. Dr. Tauro and Staff keep up the excellent professionalism. Last but not least Dr. Tauro happens to be in fact probably out of all my doctors has the best bed side manner any doctor could have. Lastly he wears the best Hawaiian shirts ever. LOL
Dr. Tauro, in my opinion is one of the best surgeons around. I've had both hips replaced and a total reverse shoulder replacement. I couldn't be happier. Not only is he professional in every way, he makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. He answers all your questions and welcomes them. He is very down to earth and I wouldn't recommend anyone else. His staff is also very nice and I've never had a problem with any on them. He gets a 5 star rating from me.
Today I came to this office & kindly I Said to the secretary “YURI ??????? “ hi how are you “ she gave me that look like if I’m crazy.. she was so rude & miserable looking .. she didn’t answer to my “ hi how’re you “ inset she said with an actitud.. “what you need u have appointment? “ I honestly don’t know why some ladies work as a secretary if they hate their job.. she shouldn’t be working there.. here name is YuRi !! Before I left. I said you need manners & she laugh & said bye. Rude & unprofessional secretary.
Dr. Tauro did a total L hip replacement on January 30, 2015. When I saw him for a fu visit in 2 weeks, I was still not walking well. He said I was a "slow healer". Several weeks later, I had my second fu. This time Kay, who says she is a nurse and physical therapist took an x-ray at the office. She said hip was fine and problem was "in my head". I went to a neurologist who diagnosed atrophy in my L thigh. After PT focused on that, I did well. About three months ago symptoms returned--pain in groin. I'm seeing another ortho today. Obviously, I don't recommend Dr. Tauro.
Dr Tauro performed rotator cuff surgery on my right arm. He did an excellent repair and I had NO problems recovering. On my last visit before he was going to release me, he did a routine exam and X-ray. He noticed something on the X-ray that he did not like. He suggested I see a specialist. If it were not for Dr Tauro's keen eye and knowledge of his profession, my "Something" turned out to be a bone tumor which the cure for it 40 yrs ago was to cut the arm off. Thanks to Dr Tauro and his colleague Dr Patterson I have my arm and I am cancer free.
I had bi-lateral knee surgery, both failed within 16 months and both were replaced a second time. Beta-dine was used and I had a "Allergy to Iodine products" on my wrist. 8 days ICU, 14 days in the hospital, drop foot caused by surgery, never got better, handicapped for life. worse thing was after the hospital I was ignored by the practice and had to go elsewhere. I've found out in the 8 years sense the surgery there are others like me.
Very happy with my choice to use Dr Tauro for my hip replacement
My experience with Dr.Tauro from beginning to end was superior! From the first visit, he explained his thinking and plan. I followed up with him after PT and MRI and was told surgery for rotator cuff repair was necessary. Office staff helped with the process, and I was prepared for each step of surgery, post op, PT, and visits. Even my physical therapists love working with Dr Tauro because he’s very explicit with his instructions. I knew I was in capable hands and am glad I had the surgery!
Was concerned about having rotator cuff surgery and the end results. Had the surgery in October, was in PT two days later. After two months of PT I had full range of motion back. At three months I was back in the gym with a light workout. At six months, very happy and back to my normal routine. I'd recommend Dr Tauro.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
