Charles S. Kososky's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Kososky has seen three generations of my family: myself, my daughter, and my mother. Each of us had widely different issues and Dr. K expertly addressed our issues far better than other neurologists. He was more thorough and diagnosed much more accurately than other doctors. He has a warm and charming personality. As for St. Francis, I can not say enough wonderful things. I've had scoliosis that went untreated for decades. Finally, my body had enough and I was pretty much broken. This meant I also became unemployed and uninsured. After a couple of years of struggle, I was referred to my hero, Dr. Nirav Shah, who recommended St. Francis for me. I applied for Charity Care (yes, it's not the most comfortable process, but that's necessary). Once I had Charity Care, I literally paid for nothing St. Francis. And I had MANY expensive MRI's, EMG's, X-rays, and then my first spine surgery. I got excellent care and everyone was very nice and competent. I paid $0.00 for anything. This was all in 2010, but I'm sure that the mission of St. Francis hasn't changed.

Compassionate and extremely intelligent. Takes as much time as you need.

I would not recommend this neurologist. He was assigned to my husband who suffered an acquired brain injury in November of 2016. His initial "cautious optimism" quickly waned, and he clearly gave up on him. Thank God the therapist was more astute, and persisted for extensive rehabilitation. After much therapy and a more compassionate team of doctors, my husband has come a long way. I wish Dr. Kososky could see my husband now, whose progress is nothing short of miraculous and amazing.

The office staff is horrible. Confirm your appointment as they often cancel or reschedule without informing you. Tell you that you need referral when you don't. Dr. is overbooked and takes a long time to get an appt and follow-up appt. It is like a warehouse.

when i was a patient at st francis medical center i met dr kososky he is very knowledgeable in his field of neurology, he has a great bedside manner, pleasant and easy to speak to.

Saw him in June of last year. as well as Dr Raj Grewal. Stay away from these people, Short story he and Grewal ran me through 3 tests with their EMG machine. Telling me at first you may have CDIP and we can treat that and telling me how expense their emg machine was and saying FALSELY that medical would cover only one limb at a time. To start running me through the mill with visits on June 7, 12, and 20 occurred for which the diagnosis was are you ready? " we need to run more tests on him" I have always used HMO.... copays but that's it. Kososky said he had no idea what this would cost. well for these three visits they billed United health care medicare advantage a total of $18,704. grewal billed an additional 1822. They stuck me for shoddy incomplete treatment for $568. (I have this detailed in writing else where) . I have so far paid approx 137. Their billing is outsourced to several different entities and is as incompetent as the so called treatment. For the last several weeks i have been trying to arrange 20 a month credit card charges after i had been paying 25 a moth and with a balance due on 20.61 on the first bill the system flagged the 20.61 as unpaid and sent that to their bill collection entity. But even today they sent me yet another bill that was not what their other arm had agreed to. suggestion to local people. Do NOT deal with these folk. I changed insurance to horizon NJ blue cross medicare advantage to get coverage at the university of pennsylvannia. They have the best depot of neurology in the united states. roughly 30 specialist covering all aspects. On the 4th and the 24 of January I saw Dr Steven Scherer, Chief Neuro-muscular Division. The visit on the 24th involved 3 people for two hours. Yes it was thorough. Dr Scherer ruled out CDIP and sent me to the gym where I have been working out five days a week for the past 8 weeks. He billed Medicare Horizon 2,364. for which I had to pay 208. For his personal charges he billed 955 of which I had to pay 45. I have paid both these bills. I have had the treatment st francis did redone at Penn. Total cost to me was $298. Kossosky billed $4660 and $4603. Grewal billed $9, 441. keep that expensive testing machine employed a total of 18,704. Plus Grewal billed 1822 for his office visit. I have paper copies of all of these. $20,526 total the cofers of St Francis, versus $3819 for Dept of Neurology at Penn. Wait there was also Dr Scherers fee of January 4th that I do not have in from for me that was I believe less than 500 for which I paid 45. this amount is includes in the 298 cited above. St Francis billed roughly five times what Penn billed. The treatment at Penn is world class. you can get there for a round trip train fare of $10.00 from west trenton septa in 72 minutes. about a 100 yard walk to the physicians offices. I may need to see a different specialist at Penn but these men and women are in one dept they know each other and work as team. Check your coverage. If you are not covered change your insurance as i did and GO THERE. I have resided at 431 Greenway ave since October 22 1976. plkease do not risk your health on st francis. Stay far far away.
