This person should not be in healthcare or working near humans, especially not BIPOC communities. She was awful to my loved one, who is chronically ill. She ignores BIPOC patients concerns and dismisses them without questioning or examining to rule out illnesses. She refuses to inform them of abnormal test results and claims on her notes they have no complaints or symptoms when they do. She does absolutely no follow-up She orders HIV tests for patients who are NOT high risk simply because they are BIPOC, without obtaining informed consent. Then claims on notes that she received informed consent when she has not. I strongly suggest any BIPOC patients who have her as a PCP or whose loved one has her as a pcp read post visit notes and be diligent in knowing your rights as a patient. Always have someone with you at your visit or go with your loved ones if they have her as their pcp. For your safety, I don't recommend her at all if you or your loved one are BIPOC. She's just another one who praises herself for working in underserved communities, while dismissing the systemic reasons why our communities are neglected and engaging in those very harmful practices. She definitely does not abide by the Hippocratic oath, especially not "do no harm."

This doctor will smile all while minimizing, dismissing, and invalidating any concerns you raise. She does NOT do a proper exam, and missed some recent illnesses as a result. She does NOT take notes, which can be damaging to patients, especially those with complex medical histories. This can interfere with future care from other doctors viewing your records. She does NOT ask follow-up questions to better assess the health of a patient and offers a diagnosis without proper investigation of symptoms and quickly moves on. She does NOT ask for informed consent for screenings that require patient it, like HIV screenings. Yet, she wrote in the ordered that I agreed. I did NOT. I was not informed that it would be ordered. I am not even high-risk. She does NOT do follow-up care or return calls and messages. She is condescending and arrogant and speaks AT you as if you are a child. Disrepsect with a smile is still disrespect. The woman who told me about her said she was caring and thorough, but I found none of that to be true. There is certainly an empathy gap when it comes to certain groups all while thinking she is "saving" us. People from certain groups who will get better treatment. Others will be chided and dismissed. IYKYK.

This practice really changed .

Dr Carcia is kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I feel very lucky to have her as my doctor.
