List of Shan Chen's Reviews
very good
Other reviews obviously written by people with neurological problems. People described cannot work at RWJNB very long. Dr. was on time, extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and had several helpful suggestions and ideas. Spent about an hour on our first meeting and answered every question we came up with. Staff was friendly and efficient and easy to joke with. We will pursue several follow up options with her and have no hesitation on recommending her. My partner felt the same
Never responded to follow-up questions, no callback.
poor
Dr. Chen repeatedly interrupted. She did not listen to the theory that all of the symptoms could be related, ruling out realms of possibilities she could not see. She wrote everything off to stress, said there is no diagnosis, and prescribed strong pain meds to treat the symptoms. She refused to admit that she doesn't know what's really happening, nor did she volunteer to do any further research on any of the symptoms. She did not refer to any other practitioners for a more specialized opinion.
Dr. Chen was very disappointing to visit. I came to her for a second opinion, and she did not bother to do any thinking or leg work of her own. She did not listen well or perform any examination herself. She glanced at the records I brought and stated that there is no diagnosis to be found, and that no other doctor will be able to provide me one either. Extremely unhelpful and dissatisfying visit, and a complete waste of my time.
Very unprepared doctor, desk workers act like you are bothering them if you say hello
The staff were the most disgusting and disturbing people. They have no right to be in this line of work. Dr Chen herself was researching my illness on Wikipedia as I was watching and asked me if my illness started after gastric bypass surgery. I never had gastric bypass surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
