List of Mathias Zemel's Reviews
This place is awesome. Have been going to so many dermatologist and never gave me a straight answer to what my condition is. Until, This place gave me the answer. Also, Stephanie The office manager is great she took in my infant as a walkIn(emergency) and the doctors assisted him so well. This place does need a clean up and more organized place, but no one knows the issue with that. Everything else is great.
Terrible place, when you arrive at 381 Chestnut ST, Union NJ 07083. You have to go down a steep flight of stairs, to an unfinished office, with dust every, unfinished sheet rock, and this lady doctor, who hasn’t a clue on how to treat extreme dermatitis, this woman tells you what she is not going to do, never mind listening to the patient telling her what works. This place ( you can not call this a doctors office) would not take down my pharmacy information to send the prescription to, please don’t waste your time and money, I thought I was going to see Mathias Zemel, instead I got, I don’t have a clue annie
A basement is not recommended as a pediatrician's office, there is no ventilation, apparently the doctor has been wearing the same mask since the pandemic began. the place and the staff do not meet the expectations of a medical office. horrible I would not recommend.
Horrible
I HATE having to come here. There's really few dermatologist near me that takes my insurance. I don't feel listened to and he makes me extremely uncomfortable.
This doctor isn’t a good one.
I almost lost total hope when Dermatologist at SCN Dermatologist group at Chestnut St Newark informed me that my vitiligo wasn’t treatable after the result of my biopsy indicated negative “nothing could be done at this point of your therapy”, she said, referring to my Vitiligo condition after visiting the clinic back and forth for several months. Thank God my current PCP referred me to Dr Zemel. He is terrific. Both Doctors are very caring and concerned while maintaining efficient service and professionalism. I’m very thankful for the excellent service I have been receiving. They provided me with exceptional treatment and experience while the staff nurses are very friendly. I will not hesitate to refer anybody who is suffering from this condition to their facility. In my case I have these white patches all over my body. It started on my sculp-head (massive chunk of white patches), and eventually spreading on my lips, fingernails and in my ears. After diagnosing he recommended medication (prescription) and light therapy for about three months now, which I have begun to see great improvement. The patches have stopped spreading as it used to, and I have started to see re-pigmentation on my head. I can vehemently say the cure is going on well and I’m now relieved. Thank you again for your outstanding service. Certainly they deserve 5 stars.
Bad Doctor and bad personal
I had a great experience with Dr. Zemel and his staff. I went to Dr. Zemel with concerns with hair loss and bald spot. I was prescribed medication and a month later the hair has grown back. Him and his staff were very friendly and took the time to explain what was going on with my situation and all the the different opinions to help. I would definitely recommend Dr. Zemel 😁👍
If you got problems regarding skin; This is the place to go............ He do it all from acne to skin cancer to different types of surgery he's the man to see. Trust me i know; He's my dermatologist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
