List of Serenity At Summit New Jersey's Reviews
The Detoxification of ones is never a pleasant process, but I was at serenity summit, with a few other peers and during that time, they lost expensive belongings, changed policies numerous times, and the icing on the cake was when they neglected to check bloodwork, and I was sent in an ambulance—I had to pay for—to a different town without any identification and then left in the ER NINE hours after I had been discharged. They sent a Lyft for me at 3:01 am. My roommate was released before her withdrawal symptoms had subsided. We were asked to eat in our beds because their cafeteria wasn’t Covid prepared. Other patients were left unattended to in rooms for days. Phone rules changes almost daily, I couldn’t speak to my family for the first four days. Some didn’t get to speak to them at all. There is a humane way to go through detox. I went to the loveliest rehab in the world after Serenity—where I encountered even more horror stories from the people who had spent time there. Serenity Summit was not humane. They have one concern, and it is profit. They put the bottom line before the patient bottoming out. It is criminal to tune if litigious.Which I intend to be. Send your loved ones anywhere else.
Stay away unless you want to be taken advantage of and want to get worst.Completely disorganized, terrible food, and lies about billing. The intake team, my therapist, and a coordinator all promised me this would be completely 100% free of charge to me, just to charge me thousands of dollars after the fact, convincing me to stay longer than I ever would have if I knew how much it would cost me. I can’t help but think it’s purposeful and deliberate and that they scammed me in a time of need. I imagine this is common practice for them. Money hungry tactics like this discourage people from getting the help they need. It’s disappointing as there are some great staff there (particularly the techs), but the entire package is not worth it, unless you want to accidentally shell out 10,000 dollars for 10 days worth of service. It’s not what I’d call conducive to recovery. I’m never one to give 1 star reviews but this is unacceptable as it will have long term financial repercussions for the rest of my life. Get some help, but please stay away from this place.
They kept my loved ones belongings because they signed themselves out the same day. The room was freezing cold. They were also dirty . Didn't bring them food till 5pm..was told the food was good . Turns out the food wasn't good enough to give a dog. Left them unattended for almost 3hrs. Going back to get their belongings tomorrow. If one thing is missing they will have more than a legal problem!!! This place is definitely getting reported!

Although the Facilities in both Union and Princeton Junction, New Jersey are understaffed and shorthanded due to Covid-19, the Staff members at both facilities are quite remarkable. The Admissions process at both locations are easy flowing as the fine Staff kindly welcome those who are struggling with mental and behavioral health issues and addiction. In my view, one is certainly treated with respect and dignity by Staff at both facilities. Staff Techs made daily efforts to ensure that the clients/participants needs were consistently met. Moreover, the Client Care Coordinators are also quite genuine, knowledgeable, and kind-hearted at Union and Princeton Junction. This Author could certainly document voluminous notes and cite numerous experiences, regarding the energetic and good natured Staff at Union location who help those in need daily. Notwithstanding the kind and wonderful Nursing Staff at the Union, NJ facility. To list a few from all Departments at both listed locations: Miss Frida, Theresa, Tiffany, Sharon, Caroline, Arielle, Marybeth, Latoya, Mika, Renee, Mr. Jeremiah, Cliff, Marco, Andrew, and Mr. Robert are only a few of the phenomenal staff members. Miss Ashley from Alumni services is also a tremendous success story and she shares her experiences and provides excellent advice to all the clients/participants who are actively recovering at both facilities. I would recommend this Agency to anyone based on my wonderful experiences with the fine Staff Members.
stay away!!!! I went there to detox and they told me to bring all of my prescriptions just so they could dump them out in front of into a garbage can. They locked me in a room and would let me out. My family was worried sick. Serenity wild not answer their calls. I was detoxing off of alcohol and had no detox meds. After scream for a few days they call retreat. I have PTSD from serenity. I truly though I was kidnapped and so did my family. At the next treatment center I arrived at a met a young lady and it took her 4 long days to get out of serenity please don’t send your loved ones here. It’s not a safe place.
Stay away!!! I have severe PTSD from this facility. I went there to get off prescription benzodiazepines and the doctor and nurses (except two) are rude and lack compassion. Their “protocol” for benzodiazepines is extremely dangerous. They use a dangerous medication that hasn’t been used for benzo detox for over 30 years. I ended up in the hospital next door and while I was there, I begged them to let me use their phone so I could call my family to come get me because I wasn’t allowed to call anyone at Serenity. This place is a prison. I completed detox and they tried to force me to stay for residential (which I did not need) obviously for more $$$, not because they cared. Some of the techs and one of the counselors (Duane) are very good, other than that, this place is trash. Very ghetto and dirty. The bedrooms and bathrooms are not cleaned on a regular basis. Food isn’t fresh. The only time patients get to go outside is during smoke breaks in their ghetto parking lot/bus stop. Counselors and nurses are almost never available to help patients since they spend all day in meetings with their doors closed. This is unacceptable especially while patients are suffering from withdrawals.I am now off benzodiazepines but I did all the work on my own since this place traumatized me so much and I never want to go through this experience again. I suffered for weeks after I left because they did not detox me properly. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but everyone needs to be warned. Do not go here or send your loved ones here. There are better places to go.
STAY AWAYThis place is a prison - complete with guards. Their sales team (Rory) will sell you a bag of goods - DON'T fall for it like I did. They work off commision.I went there to Detox and attend groups (28 days.) I lasted 2 1/2. The head nurse , Jennifer , is a vile, horribly mean woman who is not capable of compassion or empathy. The food is real bad and served on plastic plates. You must eat in your rooms. You can only go outside if a guard takes you. And the worst part of this dump is that there is no group therapy.I highly recommend Pinelands Recovery at Medford.
I recently stayed at Serenity. The groups and accommodations were very nice. The staff also seemed to really genuinely care about their patients. I am glad to have started my recovery at Serenity.
Ok so here’s the deal, detox sucks, and is gonna suck no matter where you are. Is this place the best? Absolutely not. However, the staff here is so caring that it makes up for everything else. Detox is often a revolving door of people, so given that, it’s really impressive how they go the extra mile to really take care of you. Almost a year later, I still remember a lot of the therapists, counselors and techs. That’s pretty rare and says a lot about that place. I hope I never have to go back to detox, but if I ever have to, serenity at summit would be my first choice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
