She sent me for a few tests and never called me with any results. I left several messages for a call back and Julia said that she would call me back with results because the doctor was too busy!!! She never did either!

I visited Dr. Mariyampillai on 8/24/20 for a consult, as I was interviewing for a new internist. I was immediately put off by the fact that she asked me questions that I had already answered via her several page new patient information packet, which I judiciously filled out, but she did not have handy. She appeared to listen half-heartedly, interrupting continuously and interjecting her medical opinions throughout, instead of letting me share my medical history, which she even questioned if it even existed. She criticized my diet based on what I had for breakfast, asking why I would even drink a protein shake in lieu of actually eating protein, and telling me that mangoes were "fattening" and that I shouldn't be eating them. When I displayed the knowledge I've gained by means of a degree in Health Science, followed by additional degrees in education, she condescendingly asked if I read articles on Google often. MD does not stand for Medical Deity. Never again!

Dr Joan, Is by far the kindest, caring Dr. I have known, she is a real people person, she spends time with you and understands & wants to help you get better and from what I see she always puts her patients first, and Julia in the office is nice and patient. Thank You Dr Joan for all the care you have given me and now my daughter.

Dr. Joan is compassionate and extremely sensitive to your health needs. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and needs. She is the last of the "old school" docs that really cares for you.

Dr. Mariyampillai is such a thorough doctor. I went in for a basic yearly physical and she asked me questions that some doctors have never asked. She actually read through my paperwork and when you go to a new doctor and you fill out tons of papers, a doctor who actually reads through it is a blessing. She comes off as a little abrupt but she's super sweet. She listened and addressed all my questions and concerns. Oh, and, she has some later hours... try finding a good doctor that does that nowaday.
