List of Matthew Arkebauer's Reviews
Dr. Arkebauer is profoundly investigative in his approach as he presents a comprehensive slate of possibilities underlying a patient's condition toward the goal of ensuring an optimal outcome. His knowledge is augmented by patient-centric empathy. He's one of those physicians with whom one wants to have a consult regardless of whether or not he's in network because his knowledge base is worth it.

I have never felt so disregarded by a physician. This Doctor does not listen to your concerns, he is dismissive and arrogant. I tried to express how I was feeling to assist him in understanding my medical concerns, however, he was annoyed that I was telling him about how I felt and he seemingly already had a preconceived answer to anything that I said and dismissed me and my concerns. I have never ever been treated this way by a healthcare professional. Doctors want to know your symptoms and your concerns so that they can help you, not this guy. He is the worst physician that I have ever encountered, I never wrote a review on a doctor but this had to be written.
Dr Arkebauer was extremely knowledgeable and he took his time listening. He is definitely worth the ride for me (1hr 15m). He addressed all my issues and helped formulate a plan for future treatment. Highly recommend him!!
I like him...im not in there forever waiting...i feel he truly cares & wants to help me out .. I didnt want pills to manage my condition so he sent me to physical therapy .. & i love his husky blue eyes
I've been to this doctor maybe twice. Acts as if he's no really interest in listening to what I had to say, gave me test I did not need. I told him I was taking a certain med and that it works, he told me its just a placebo. Deals constantly with files and does not examine me
Dr. Arkebauer is an excellent physician. He not only treated myself, but also treated my father. My issues were minor and he cleared any concern I had quickly. My father has dealt with AS for 50+years and has had many arthritic and back related issues because of the AS. Dr. Arkebauer expertly assessed my father's condition and explained his findings along the way. He was able to build a quick rapport with my dad and really listened to my dad's concerns. After the visit my dad expressed how happy he was to find a doctor who was so knowledgeable not only on AS but other rheumatological conditions that impact his day-to-day living. Easy to schedule an appointment, great staff, and easy to follow next-steps.

Dr. Arkebauer is a wonderful doctor that is very knowledgeable in his specialty. I was having difficulty finding out if my expensive treatment for osteoporosis was paid by my insurances, and Dr. Arkebauer was able to find out that information for me. I was able to continue my treatment, thanks to Dr. Arkebauer. He took time from his busy schedule to arrange medical tests for me, and then he thoroughly explained the results. Dr. Arkebauer gave me 'star' treatment, and every time I have an appointment with him, it is stress free. I feel confident that I received the best advice from Dr. Arkebauer. He is a very caring and 'down-to- earth' doctor, and most importantly, he has the best interest of the patient when making decisions in regards to health concerns.
I normally don’t like to give a poor review. However, after reading some of the other experiences from other patients as well as my own, I felt that stating my personal dealing with Dr. Arkebuer was warranted. Dr Arkebauer is one of the most pompous, arrogant, egotistical, and unprofessional physicians I have ever had to interact with in all my days seeing doctors. To start, I was in my waiting room hearing him speak loudly right outside my door yelling at another patient. The conversation seemed as if the patient was still speaking to the doctor about their issues yet this doctor was hastily walking out of their room ignoring their conversation stating, “I’ve got others to see now. I’m the doctor and know your pain… it’s no big deal”. If I was that particular patient and someone spoke to me that way, I know that I, nor my spouse, would have tolerated that comment. Within a few minutes, Dr. Arkebauer entered my waiting room. I do want to point out that although it’s not relevant to his knowledge of being a doctor, it was unusual that he was unprofessionally dressed in a pink t-shirt as if he was prepared to attend a social event or even a golf outing later that day! When in the room, after the initial salutation, I asked him how he was doing. My doctor made absolutely no eye contact with me at all other than to state that “he just had to deal with another crazy patient”. He sat down, glanced at labs that he had ordered, and proceeded to tell me some of my results were good while others were out of range, but stated that I continue my current meds and schedule to see me again at another date. Without going into specifics regarding my personal medical problem, I told Dr Arkebauer that my pain has actually gotten worse and that I am now getting new symptoms that were not present since my last visit. While I was still talking, he got up from his stool, stared at his watch as if he had something better to do than to listen to me, and spoke over me saying “you’re fine, just continue with what you have been doing, and I’ll see you next time” and walked out the door. That’s it! After sitting in the main waiting area for 45 minutes and then another 20 minutes in the patient waiting room, my time with Dr Arkebuer lasted less than 3 minutes. He didn’t tell me what parts of my lab were out of range, nor bothered to listen to my deteriorating health since my last visit. I was so mad and stressed that I wished I did more to stand up to him I guess at the time, I was intimidated by him and didn’t want to be labeled as another one of his “crazy patients”. I will not recommend him nor would I ever want to see him again! I do want to note that Dr. Arkebauer’s disrespectful and unprofessional demeanor are not a reflection of the practice of Dr. Soloway and his staff. The personnel there have ALWAYS treated me nicely, asks about my family (as I have been attending this office for years, and shows the utmost attention when speaking to me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
