Dr. Steven J. McClane did my first surgery; a total proctocolectomy in September 2017. My surgery went well. Dr. McClane explained the surgery to me & he surely put my mind at ease. He has an excellent bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable, very kind, caring & professional. Dr. McClane did my second surgery ; an Ileostomy Reversal in February 2018. During the surgery I lost alot of blood & required 4 blood transfusions. Dr. Steven McClane saved my life!!! He performed the surgery & did an absolutely awesome job. I am grateful to have the BEST Colorectal Surgeon in New Jersey; probably in the United States 🇺🇲! After two abdominal surgeries I acquired scar tissue, { as anyone will after surgeries} I had six SBO~ Small Bowel Obstructions total. The most recent in February 2022 was the worst. I ended up @ Cooper University Hospital again & Dr. McClane had to perform yet another surgery on me. Dr. McClane did a Lysis of Adhesions, Small Bowel Resection, Repair of Small Bowel Intestional Perforation & a Small Bowel Intestional Strictureplasty on March 3, 2022. He saved my life again! Dr. Steven J. McClane is thee best! He is my hero! {besides my Father & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.} I highly recommend Dr. Steven J McClane, Head of Colorectal/ Cooper University Hospital in Camden. THANK YOU AGAIN Dr. McClane ! I will see him again in March 2023 for another surgery. I trust this Surgeon with my life, always.

Dr. Mcclane did a reverse ostomy surgery on my wife that had been botched badly by another surgeon twice. He had little tissue left to work with, but completed the surgery successfully. He also assured us through the whole process and explained exactly the risks and probability of success. Highly recommend.

Dr McClane is the best! He took such good care of my husband Charlie even though it was only for a short time. Dr. McClane took time out of his busy schedule to call me and explain everything to me after my husband passed away. Thank you for your kindness.

I had stage 3 rectal cancer. I was referred to Dr. Mcclane in house by another Cooper doctor. He immediately had his assistant schedule me for an appointment. He explained my situation to me. Told me I was in for a rough road, but he would take care of me, and that he did. He is still taking care of me three years later. He is a very compassionate, genuine person. He is not your typical surgeon. I believe I am alive today because of this man. I don't know why other people gave him anything less than 5 stars, I would give him 10 stars if I could. Take it from someone who is alive today to sing this man's praises!! He is AMAZING!!

Don't ever let this guy do a rectal prolapse repair on you. If you do, you will regret it big time. My life is a mess since he operated on me, Another surgeon old me that the type of surgery he did on me should only be done on the very elderly, not on someone my age. McClane told me I would have normal bowel movements after the surgery, which turned out to be utterly untrue. I have to constantly go to the toilet and my freedom of movement is very restricted.
