Howard J. Bresalier's Online Review Report Card

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Bresalier and the staff at Advanced ENT in Woodbury. From the moment I had my consult with Dr. Bresalier he took his time explaining my surgical options, answering my endless questions, and easing my anxiety. I saw some other less than perfect reviews and I cannot even understand why this doctor would receive anything less than 5 stars...he was professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful of my concerns, and not to mention thorough and efficient. For my second appointment he even stayed after hours to work with my schedule and when I got stuck in traffic and couldn't get a hold of the office to let them know, he understandably left for the day. When I arrived, the nurses called the Dr on his personal phone and he turned around and CAME BACK! I would have never expected a doctor to go above and beyond like that on a Friday nonetheless. Today was my third appointment with Dr. Bresalier...I unexpectedly had to bring my young child with me and the staff was extremely accommodating offering to watch him in a separate room if needed, and offered him a coloring book and stickers to keep him happy and occupied during my procedure. Each and every visit with this office has exceeded my expectations and they all deserve recognition for being a quality facility who cares about their patients!!!

I made an appointment with the Advanced ENT group to obtain a second opinion after seeing a clinician at an urgent care facility 3 days prior. I had a severe sore throat and right ear pain that did not change in severity for 4 days(sore throat for a total of 6 days). My throat was bright red and felt very raw. I was taking Naproxen every 12 hours and Tylenol every 6 hours to contain the throat and ear pain I was experiencing. The pain would even awaken me from sleep and act as a reminder to take Tylenol or I would not be able to fall back to sleep. Since the pain had not subsided in 3 days, I became concerned. I made a same day appointment and Dr Bresalier was the only doctor that had an opening at the Washington Township office. When Dr Bresalier came into the room, I am not sure he even said hello or introduced himself. He asked why I was there and I proceeded to tell him my history as quickly as I could. He said something about 6 days being quite a while to have a sore throat. Dr Breslalier then pulled down my mask and looked at my throat. He said it looked “normal” so he said something about wanting to look at my nose. He quickly sprayed something into my nostrils and gave me a tissue and then walked out of the room. My head was spinning. Only a few minutes had passed. I thought, did he really say he thought my throat looked normal? My throat was bright red, very sore, and even the clinician at the urgent care had said how awful it had looked. He had not asked me any questions about what symptoms I had. I did not have any nasal congestion. He did not look into my ears. I thought when he comes back, I will tell him he may think my throat looked normal, but it did not look or feel normal to me. And ask him why would he want to look up my nose as I was not having a problem with my nose nor my sinuses. After waiting for about 5 to 7 minutes, I realized he had not even stated where he was going or anything at all. He had just walked out without saying a word! I was so shocked by his dismissiveness and manner. He should not have pulled my mask down without asking and should have let me remove my mask myself as it was on my person. I believe he totally disregarded my symptoms. Did he say he thought my throat looked “normal” just so that he could do another procedure that I did not even need? That was certainly my impression. After thinking about everything that had passed and he had not returned, I walked out of the room, and told the front desk that I was not sure what the doctor was planning to do, and he had left the room without saying a word, so I was leaving. I have been a registered nurse for over 35 years and I believe I may have some idea of what is “normal” and “not normal'', and when a procedure may be necessary or not. Also that all patients should be treated with respect and dignity. Beware!

My first visit with dr bresalier will be my last. I had no idea other people had issues with their visits with him until I looked up reviews after I had my appointment with him which left me feeling very upset. He seems to be a very intelligent man but clearly has many personality flaws. I don’t need to be coddled and don’t require a ton of attention personally, but the visit was very uncomfortable. He entered the room and reached across to the chair I was sitting in and turned my chair to make me face him directly as if to state that all attention needed to be on him. When I explained the issues I had been having, he made faces like I was making up the issues. I told him my father had informed me that as the people in my family get older our sinuses seem to get a bit “wonky” and he made a disgusted face and asked what the word wonky meant as if to belittle me for not using proper medical terminology. He put numbing medicine in my nose in preparation for sticking a telescope instrument in my nostrils to check my sinuses and it hurt so much I yelled. He was condescending throughout the entire appointment (which lasted about ten minutes) I appreciate directness with a doctor but he had the worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced. He treated me like I was wasting his time even though I was just looking for guidance. After we left the room he spoke down to his employees and yelled at them like they were stupid and they all looked miserable. I’m not sure what has happened to dr bresalier during his lifetime or his career but I left my appointment thinking that he was a borderline psychopath with a god complex. I thanked him for his direction and ran out of there as quickly as possible!

As someone else said here, my appointment with Dr. Bresalier was disappointing to say the least. He must be magic, because he dismissed all the potential diagnoses for my constant dizziness and headaches without even looking in my ears or really asking many questions. Then, he cross-examined me about what kind of dizziness I was feeling but wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise to answer. I've been assured by other doctors the issue is most likely with my ears (which is why I went to see him), but I definitely won't find out here. He ordered two tests, only one of which his office actually followed up to schedule (because I couldn't schedule them myself). Then he told me I should go to a neurologist because he was sure nothing was wrong with my ears. He came across as arrogant, uncaring, and dismissive. I definitely won't return to him and probably won't bother with any other doctors at this practice.

I saw Dr. Bresalier after an exhausting 3 months of dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and other symptoms. No one seemed to know what was wrong with me and I was hoping he would shed some light on what was causing my symptoms. He said my symptoms would probably go away on their own, then looked in my ears, up my nose, and in my mouth. I was out of his office within 10 minutes. No possible explanations were given, no treatments, no advice. I got the sense that he just wanted to pass me on to some other doctor. Because I had such high hopes that I would finally get a clue what was going on, I was deeply disappointed and angry. I have never been to a more dismissive and arrogant doctor in my life. My symptoms have not gone away and I have to start all over again with another ENT. He didn’t even remove the earwax from my ear that the audiologist had suggested. I do not recommend Dr. Bresalier at all.

He took good care of my wife, staff fairly cordial. Specialist in cancer radiation treatments.

He is a great Doctor. He performed a Tonsillectomy on me 4 days ago, and I'm healing very well, and surgery went very well also. He really knows what he's doing, I would recommend him to anyone who might need his expertise.

Dr. Bresalier is absolutely wonderful. After performing a para thyroidectomy 5 months ago there is barely a hint of a scar on my neck. I was afraid ...

I really liked him!

My appointment was the next day impressed with office staff and Dr Bresalier was awesome made me understand my problem felt secure on diagnosis
