List of Ronald E. Barabas's Reviews
**Updated 2/2023** Our visit to this doc was like entering the twilight zone. This doctor never gave us any feedback, never contacted my son's school, and never returned phone calls no matter how many times we called to reach him. Terrible experience for the price we paid, just because it is relatively easy to get an appointment (compared to the wait of 6 months - 2 years from an actual doctor that can help you). If you carefully read the syntax of all the positive reviews, it seems as though they are written by the same person, probably paid friends of Dr. Barabas, or the good doctor himself. As far as I am concerned, he is a thief and a criminal since he provided us with no helpful feedback and no paperwork whatsoever to give to my son's school. Yet our insurance was billed in the hundreds for an hour of his time in which he made many strange and unhelpful comments about the color of my son's eyes and his body size, and told us he "will be fine". By God's incredible mercy, my son is 12 now and he is fine. He still has ADHD but he is learning to overcome it. I think the doctor himself needs a mental health evaluation. He should be shut down immediately because he provides zero follow up and zero paperwork which is why parents go to him in the first place.
We found Dr. Barabas to be an incredible neurologist. We had gone through a high risk pregnancy and everything seemed normal until suddenly our 2 year old son was holding his head and complaining of headaches. Fortunately we are in a position to go were every we want for treatment. We had ruled out other possible causes and Dr. Barabas came highly recommended. We were amazed at the thoroughness and time spent in conducting a complete and detailed physical and neurological examination. (Indeed, it took well over an hour and was even longer than our son's initial pediatric examination.) His calm demeanor was a total complement to his professionalism and his diagnosis explanation in layman's terms was refreshing and informative. Indeed, he gave us some suggestions on diet that proved an immediate relief to the headaches and we continue to see him due to our son's delayed development in some areas. This is a great doctor and I am glad we found him.
Doctor himself is very good. Very patient, takes his time, shows care, writes A BOOK WORTH OF NOTES EACH VISIT, and just when I wondered whether he reads them, he seems to remember all the important items during our follow up visits. So this is the good part. The not-so-good part is that there is no direct line to his office, only through central system, and you cannot communicate easily, at all.
We went to Dr.Barabas for diagnosing our son's school difficulties. The testing completed at CNNH was extremely thorough as noted by me and the child study team at his school. I would recommend the office for conducting evaluations.
We found Dr. Barabas to be an incredible neurologist. We had gone through a high risk pregnancy and everything seemed normal until our 2 year old son was holding his head in pain. We were amazed at the thoroughness and time spent in conducting a detailed physical and neurological exam. His calm demeanor was a total complement to his professionalism and his diagnosis explanation in layman's terms was refreshing and informative. In the end his diagnosis was spot on. No more headaches. Great Dr
Dr. Barabus took a lot of time to meet with our son and then to fully explain all of the issues that were presented. We have found him to be very astute and a good diagnostician. He is not an alarmist and we have found his advice to be very helpful. I would highly recommend him! I do agree that he is rarely on time for the appointments but since he spends so much time discussing things with you, we feel that is not a big issue.
I agree with other review. Was most concerned with my sons head size when it's been normal and his pediatrician never was concerned. Accused me of not getting control of my child & likelihood of Tourette syndrome unlikely. After a full year of tics, I researched & found all behavior issues are related to Tourette syndrome. It was like he didn't even understand the disorder, I'm in the field of children & his bedside manner was horrible.
In short this is the only doctor I have ever felt compelled to leave negative feedback against. The doctor was a full 35 minutes late for the appointment despite us arriving 15 minutes early to do all of the paperwork in advance. His mannerism was awful, going so far as make fun a patients head size and lack of balance (this is NOT a joke). And the treatment went 30 minutes longer than I was told. Finally the doctor accused me of being irrationally angry. Of course I was upset. you would be too.
My daughters appointment with Dr Barabas was great...the staff was very friendly and helpful. I see another review on here that wasn't very good. Everyone has their opinions, but they also have to understand that a neurologist has a different way of expressing themselves. They are too busy pinning down the problem to have much personality themselves. He was very thorough and direct. He points out issues, which some people may not like, but oh well...its the truth...I had a very pleasant experience...just wanted to give the office some credit, especially since I saw this bad write up...I highly trust him...Annnddd would definitely recommend him :)
Avoid this Doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
