Andrea Ploshnick's Online Review Report Card

The ability to interact with my child is unimpressive to start with. Several times over the years there was minimization of concerns. Finally, the provider addressed my child's weight and nutrition after I explicitly requested that not be explored in front of my not even tween. The doc disregarded this request and went on and on despite my efforts to navigate away from the topic. It was awful and from what I understand, not an isolated incident.

What an absolutely horrible doctor!! We took our 6 month old for a checkup. She asked us about our daughters sleep. She wakes up once a night and sometimes maybe twice. We feed her and she goes to sleep within 5-10 mins. We think that is completely normal for her age. Dr. Ploshnik said we need to night wean and sleep train. We said we tried to sleep train but that did not work out for our family. She dismissed me by showing her hand to my face and looked at my husband and said can you do it. He said we won’t do anything that won’t work for both of us. She kept bringing up pointless analogies like won’t you let your baby know how to tie you shoe lace, how will they survive at school. She is 6 months!!! I am not sure why she has such strong opinions on sleep training but we think it is biologically normal for parents to respond to their infant daughter crying. She kept using coercive tactics to convince us to sleep train. She was completely disrespectful and dismissive to what we had to say.
