I just had an appointment with Dr Rhee and felt she was an overall very competent and caring doctor. I felt her concerns were in my best interest and thus made her my primary care physician. I would highly recommend her again and again.

I had an experience with Dr. Rhee that couldn't have been more different from that described by James M.I signed up with One Medical recently when I decided it was time for a new internist. I did a little research and settled on Dr. Rhee, in One Medical's California St. office, for one specific health issue, and for a referral to a specialist. At the precise minute of my appointment, she came out to greet me in the waiting room (One Medical is proud that its docs do this -- a very nice touch) and escorted me back to the examining room, which doubles as her office. Dr. Rhee is smart, efficient, and respectful. During the exam, she asked me many questions and listened carefully to my answers. Never did I get the sense that she was talking down to me. She made it clear that we were in a dialogue, trying to puzzle the problem through together. She then did a quick physical exam, diagnosed the problem (accurately, I might add), wrote a prescription, accompanied me back to the waiting room, and sent me on my way. Throughout the entire process she was very friendly but also appropriately businesslike. Doctors don't attend charm school; they attend medical school -- many years of it -- in order to care for a patient's health professionally, carefully and expertly. Dr. Rhee also handled the referral to the specialist with as much care and efficiency as she applied to the problem she could treat directly.I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Rhee and hope to stay with her for a very long time.
I was going to give this bad review to One Medical, but I felt it unfair... in all honesty, my experience with them was 5-start, except for the fact they staff AND recommended Dr. Rhee to me. One Medical has the greatest front-desk staff you can imagine, they ensure all appointments are on time, the facilities look nice, and from what I heard, they make sure you can always see someone quickly if there is a problem. My experience was fine, up until I went to see Dr. Rhee for a physical exam + discussion of some problems. I chose her due to her online profile specifying she is into "endocrine" and "complex diseases", which sounded like just who I wanted to see to figure out why I had some off the odd symptoms I"d been having. It was very stressful time for me, and I chose One Medical for the supposed "compassion" of the doctors they advertise. I abhore doctors, and am uncomfortable talking about personal things to them, and am scared of bad results, so I ignored DRs for years. The great stress I was having to deal with caused me to talk fast and be a bit jumpy and nervous. Instead of trying to relax me or show a little humanity to a young man obviously very stressed and upset, she looked at me like I'm crazy--- she sat frowning at me. She was cold and dehumanizing while I explained my health history to her. She asked no follow up questions to any of my health issues i mentioned, but when I explained how I had been prescribed some opiate pain killers recently, she suddenly came to life. Who did you go to for these? What's his name? Where does he practice? WTF do you care Dr. RHEE??? It was legally prescribed, and I am here to get my health situated so why the harassment? She treated me like I was some junky and she was going to punish the doctor who gave me them. I felt she was really judgemental about that, and dont understand why she chooses to waste my time talking about that when I have symptoms that need medical care. When she finally performed her hands on physical exam, it was the quickest and least thorough one I have ever had in my life... the bare minimum. The hands on exam was like 5 minutes of the very minimum (BP, Breathing Stethoscope, feel a couple neck/armpit lymph nodes, testicular cancer check, DONE). I am used to doctors asking me various questions about my health habits and checking me out in much more detail. I was even upset that she didn't find me worthy of thorough lab testing, and instead gave me the most basic labwork possible despite what I told her... At least give me the "COMPLEX metabolic panel", not jus the "Basic". I needed other things checked up on too but she insisted on doing nothing until she sees my most basic #'s. Oh well... it upset me, because I want to get to the bottom fo things asap, not do test after test and waste money because each test has a fixed cost... In the end, she gave me this diagnosis which made little sense to me & when I tried to discuss why it didn't seem to fit, she ignored me. I later researched this "diagnosis" and it made little sense to my situation & what I told her--- it didn't really explain anything of what I was experiencing. So... that's my story. As I said before, it was dehumanizing and I dont feel like she is a very knowledgeable physician either, to boot. I am losing faith in my quest to find a caring, compassionate, KNOWLEDGEABLE doctor. IF you know of one, PLEASE pm me

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
