I have always been able to talk to Dr. Akhtar and get my problems resolved. He truly knows his trade, and it is evident within minutes of speaking with him. Coming here is like dealing with trusted family. Would not consider changing.

My go-to podiatrist for me and my son who's gait issues were caught early and are steadily improving. Dr Akhtar is not only knowledgeable in his area of expertise, but carries tremendous bedside manners which are equally important, especially with young patients.The staff is polite, visits punctual, and facilities well appointed. The new Fort Lee location is quite convenient.

Dr. Affan Akhtar is a compassionate Doctor who genuinely cares about the patient. He squeezed me in before I left on a long business trip and cured my toe pain. It was such a relief! The best part is he shows you why and what exactly was going on his X-ray display. The office is clean and cutting edge with the latest technology. The staff is welcoming, I highly recommend Dr. Affan Akhtar and Optimal Ankle and Foot.

I have been following Dr. Akhtar for nearly 14 years. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending him for his compassion, understanding, patience, personality, hand skills, knowledge, confidence, attitude, listening skills, and humor. He has always been aware of specific circumstances to fine tune his treatment for me. Very professional, and friendly staff also.

Dr. Akhtar has treated me for various foot and ankle issues as well as surgically repaired my left ankle. I can say that his knowledge and expertise in this field greatly surpasses other podiatrists in the area. He is at the forefront of the latest medical advancements that he utilizes when and if surgery is needed/chosen. He is a professional, thoughtful, and passionate individual aside from being a physician. His office is sheek, modern, and clean. Additionally, his office personnel are accommodating and professional. Therefore, I highly recommend Dr. Akhtar for anything pertaining to podiatry issues.

FOLLOW UPS & COMMUNICATING WITH ME? TERRIBLE. HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE MAY 2017 FOR SPECIAL FOOTWEAR FOR A SPECIAL NEEDS ADULT. STILL DON'T HAVE THEM. GIVE VERY LITTLE REASONING OR INFO AS TO WHYNOT.WHEN THERE'S AN ISSUES EVERYONE IS TOO BUSY TO SPEAK TO YOU ON THE PHONE & YOUR MESSAGES ARE PASSED ALONG THRU THE RECEPTIONIST, WHO ALWAYS SAYS "THEY'RE BUSY" (DOCTOR & OFFICE MANAGER). MY NUMEROUS CALLS ARE NEVER RETURNED. REPORTS HAVE NEVER BEEN SENT OVER TO PCP DOCTORS. (ALTHOUGH REQUESTEDED SEVERAL TIMES). YES THE DOCTOR IS PLEASANT, FRIENDLY & KNOWS HER CRAFT. HOWEVER PATIENT COMMUNICATION, FOLLOW UP, REPORTS BEING GIVEN OR SENT. TERRIBLE. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE.
