Dr chin changes my life when I saw him last year I was depressed because of my weight and I could not do anything for my self but with his instructions and his great staff I followed I became ready for my sleeve surgery ,it took almost 6 months ,last Christmas ,Dr Chin did my sleeve surgery and a miracle happened ,I felt the weight started to melt and when I look to my self in the mirror I recognize my old me 25 years ago With frequent guidance and Dr Chin ‘s patient to help and care ,I am new person now ,I highly appreciated his care and recommend Dr Chin to any one seeks a surgery to lose weight and start new life

The very first time I went to dr chin I felt so comfortable with him. I had my surgery on Feb 21 and I’m feeling so much better , it’s the best thing I ever did. Dr Chin, has a wonderful bed side manner even after surgery he called my daughter to tell her everything went well and she said mom he was so nice. He listens to you when you talk , he explains everything to you step by step. He’s the best!!!!

I’d like to begin by saying, I thought very long and hard about whether or not I should share my experience. However, it is 3 am and I wholeheartedly believe that if something is causing you to lose sleep it is worthy of acknowledgment. Like most people who set out to begin this journey, I did quite a bit of research before selecting a doctor and medical group to embark on this journey. In doing so, I was most drawn to NYBG primarily because their website indicates that each surgeon is trained to complete VSG with a single incision. I then joined the NJ gastric sleeve Facebook page to inquire about any past patient experiences as well as scars/incisions, and found that none of the patients went home with one incision. Despite learning this, I felt tremendously desperate to overcome my battle with weight gain after being diagnosed with Chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia a few years ago my life completely changed. My normal weight was 175 (I am 5’8 1/2) and I have since gained over 100lbs in less than 3 years due to chronic pain as well depression. I proceeded with seeing Dr. Chin, and at that time all other physicians were all booked out so I had no one compare to. My major concerns began when NYBG released my information to another office without properly explaining what was going on. They transferred my medical file to a clinic at St. Mary’s hospital, and from there everything went left. My preliminary documents were lost multiple times, phone calls were not returned, and unprofessionalism reached an all time high from both medical centers in many different capacities. I wish I could say that one office was worse than the other, but they were both highly unorganized and lacking in more ways than should ever be accepted. On multiple occasions representatives from NYBG were tremendously rude and continually blamed the other office for their mishaps. I say all this to say, after reaching my whits end I finally scheduled a tele-health appointment with Dr. Chin to express my concerns regarding my faith in the administrative staff as well as other medical issues that were brought to my attention by a hematologist I see at Englewood health. -One thing I will say is, in any case nonverbal communication will always reveal the most important things we need to know. Apart from the fact that Dr. Chin blamed my substandard experience on my insurance he also exuded a great deal of egotism and arrogance. There was a strong negative emphasis on the Horizon NJ health plan from the practice, and I believe the division in offices was simply because they think less of those with Medicaid plans. If this is you, and you know your worth consider going elsewhere. Implicit biases and racial disparities exist in healthcare. Please be brave! Always advocate for yourself, research race and immortality rates in the US -especially if you’re a woman of color. As for myself, I live in Bergen County. My lack of private insurance is solely, because I lost my job in the city due the global pandemic and was also in an auto accident where I was hit by a commercial car carrier truck with six cars on its trailer last year. Medicaid does not make one a second class citizen. I am Penn State graduate, candidate for law school and I come from a strong military family. Go where you are valued! Englewood is top tier and manages to accept all insurances and after my last encounter with Dr.Chin and reading the inaccurate medical evaluation I realize that in most cases you’re just a number until you know the difference and strive for better experiences. I canceled my surgery date. I will exercise, diet and take phentermine until I find the right office

Dr .Chin made me feel safe and comfortable upon nearing my surgery date . The day of my surgery he was very informative and caring, my stay and follow ups after the hospital was great. I’m happy with my decision to have the surgery and more happy that Dr.Chin was my surgeon.

Loved my experience with Dr Chin and his team. I didn’t have any of the side effects that some other people I know had with other Drs and groups.

NYBG is amazing. They have been informative, responsive, accommodating, kind and flexible. Dr. Chin is incredible! Also, very responsive, answers my emails and questions whenever I have them, understanding and sensitive and no judgement. Informative throughout the entire process and extremely supportive. I'm so glad I went with Dr. Chin and NYBG.

Dr. Chin is amazing! Anyone considering weight loss surgery I strongly recommend Dr. Channing Chin. He's wonderful! very understanding, answers to all your questions, replies right away if you have a question or concern. This doctor is so caring. He not only saved my life with his talents making people lose their weight, but he also found a hernia when he went in for my sleeve surgery. Dr. Chin knows his stuff, and he is so wonderful to all his patients! I would recommend him to anyone. Great job!

If you are thinking about Bariatric surgery- go see Dr. Chin at New York Bariatric Group. Dr. Chin listened to my concerns and in turn provided guidance on a personal level. Dr. Chin took his time to explain the entire process from beginning to end and made me feel comfortable in his care. His thorough explanations put me at ease. The rest of the office staff were always pleasant and helpful. Their service and assistance made the process go smoothly. Highly recommend!

I consider myself a lucky girl. I am not very quick to give compliments but right from the very first appointment to 1 yr post op later, Dr. Chin has set the standard for all other doctors to follow. Most importantly he gave me back something that belonged to me.. my life!
