Dr Slavin was excellent. The first thing I felt was that he genuinely cared about me. He spent a lot of time making sure that I understood my treatment options without surgery versus with surgery how quickly I would recover. I highly recommend Dr Slavin without reservation.

Five-stars doesn’t come close to how I feel about Dr. Colin Harris. After weighing multiple surgeons in the NYC area, I decided upon Dr.Harris to surgically correct a progressive and painful deformity (Hyperkhyphosis |Scheuermann’s disease) in my spine. Surgery is something that I have known for years would be the inevitable and only option to fully stop the progression of the disease.  At the time of meeting Dr. Harris, the painful, rigid hump in my back had progressed to ~90+ degrees (from ~80 ten years earlier) with now vertebrae compression fractures.  After numerous pre-surgery conversations (which Dr. Harris answered all of my many questions and concerns), Dr. Harris, along with Dr. Rajnik Raab -- as my spinal neurosurgeon -- performed a thirteen-level spinal fusion (T2-L2) on my spine.  One of the many reasons that I like CNSO is that their surgical teams often include both disciplines: Orthopedic Spine Surgeon AND a Spinal Neurosurgeon.Dr. Harris is also very down-to-earth, nice, and relaxed. He put me at ease without undercutting the seriousness of my surgery, and I never once feIt rushed or burdensome at my many pre-surgery appointments with him.I am still early in my recovery but for the first time in over a decade I have NO back pain and the ugly, rigid spinal hump is gone! The result is just amazing!! I feel like my life has been given back to me.  I look forward to post-COVID so that I can finally enjoying pain-free shopping with my girls and commuting to/from my job without a gnawing, aching back.  Spinal surgery is a scary and serious and I highly recommend Dr. Harris for anyone with spinal issues, especially if you are facing complicated surgery.

Dr Slavin did surgery on me a few weeks ago. It was for a brain bleed that had unexpectedly gotten worse, almost an emergency. His work was excellent. My recovery has me virtually back to normal already. He visited me every day. Just had a post-op visit where he showed CAT scans and explained understandably why this won't happen to me again.

Pretended not to have seen all the MRI scans until we mentioned another condition, then pretended to see for the first time a neck problem and claimed that was causing balance issues instead of my father’s brain tumor. Rushed him into surgery that was less important than getting the tumor treated. Made false promises that if Dad had the surgery he’d be active. Instead Dad is bedbound and his neck in pain and twisted. A swallow test revealed he chokes when he eats because of scar tissue and hardware from the neck surgery sticking out and food catching on it. Slavin’s partner did the surgery since Slavin left for Boston before Dad got surgery (though he tried to rush it two days after we saw him, before he left town.), and the partner refused to say if the surgery was necessary or not, said he’s not allowed to say (at GBMC) But Slavin started all this. Even claimed Dad couldn’t get a biopsy unless he had neck surgery, then admitted after prodding that that wasn’t true. Salesman.

My experience was great with Dr. Slavin. I had three surgeries and he was great with all three. He answered my questions, explained the procedures ahead of time, he checked on me every day while I was in the hospital. He always answers my calls when a problem arises. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good neurosurgeon. He always listens to my concerns.
