List of Lydia M. Charles's Reviews
Started with this doctors office in 2018 would never go back or recommend. Office staff is unbelievably lazy and rude secretary answers the phone with no life unwilling to help or do anything extra. Office manager is extremely rude and lazy we moved and she couldn’t even call to find out new billing info very unprofessional. Dr. Charles is great but the doctors she has on staff are very unfriendly do not deal with children well, or answer parent questions and just rush out. Office goes through a lot of staff very frequently and too often. Do not start with this office staff needs to be changed immediately for the future of this practice and other reviews have said similar things about office manager billing and lack of knowledge in doctors at this practice. Listen to the reviews.
Dr. Charles has been our pediatrician for close to twenty years. I can't say enough about the level of care she has provided for my daughters. Dr. Charles is very caring and probably one of the most detailed physicians I have met. The newest member of her office is Dr. Alexandra Charles. We had the pleasure of meeting with her yesterday for my youngest daughter. So thrilled that she will joining her mother in this practice. She is attentive, informative and very empathetic towards children and their parents. My daughter felt very comfortable in her care.
My son loves Dr. Charles and her team! The advice of Dr. Charles has never steered me wrong. I feel her bedside manner is amazing and she explains everything in detail, taking time to make sure our son will get better. My favorite thing she told me in the past, when I was a new mom, thinking I was messing everything up was "you've got this mama, everything is fine". It set my mind at ease for that moment.
Dr. Charles has to be one of the best. She has shown tremendous care for my children, especially when one of them needed her the most, she stopped everything for her.We knew Dr. Charles when she worked for another practice and now that she has her own practice she's bringing in staff and new doctors that she can groom her way. Even though my kids don't see her all the time now I still feel her presence in the office as if she still knows everything that's happening with all her patients. Her staff is very professional all of the time, knowledgeable and caring.
It’s very unfortunate but I’ve been experiencing the same with regard to billing. I initially had to find out by surprise they were billing other charges in addition to a well exam which is all I bring my children there for thankfully. If you need a physical form completed they tac on another billing charge which insurance will most likely make you responsible for. The staff and doctor are very unfamiliar with sports physical forms and what exactly they are signing. They charge a separate cardiac screening charge which is basically page one of the sports physical questions the parents are already completing - the same exact questions, in addition they are associating the professional cardiac assessment module signature line as the signature for the cardiac screening when in fact it’s an attestation signature by the provider that they completed the required module to perform the physical. To top it off they don’t even perform the physical components they are signing off on! Big disconnect and education needed at the practice .. the MD and office manager were made aware of this. If the provider did not complete the module they should not be signing they did on that section as well. To top it off I’m told my physical forms are completed and at the front desk, I picked them up and they’re complete by the medical assistant with no physician signature. I mean how can you not be frustrated with this ongoing unprofessionalism. Hopefully this is read and can be a teaching moment.
I have been taking my 3 children to Dr Charles over a span of 20 years and she has always delivered the best care and best attention to each kid and in each situation from health visits to sick visits. Dr Charles is very professional and knowledgeable and it has been demonstrated by the treatments provided over the years. I can not thank Dr Charles enough for the high quality care provided over the many years. I have always found the staff to be very professional and cordial.
Going in for a 'well visit' should should be 100% covered by insurance, but they always find a way to bill you or charge you for something extra. Whether it's an extra 'screening' (i.e. extra questions when get a vaccination), or something random like a lazy-eye visit. It happens even when you didn't ask for this assessment, or when you've confirmed upfront that 'everything is 100% covered, right?' Then it's always a head-ache, he said, she said trying to get them to correct things with the insurance company.
This is one of the worst doctor offices I’ve ever been to. The doctors are not knowledgeable at all and do the bare minimum. The office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. Don’t bring your kid here. Bring them to a doctor that is actually educated and cares about the child instead of the money. Don’t let this office claim a was a money issue, that’s their go to response. Rumor has it, office manager couldn’t find a job for being extremely unprofessional and ended up here. Figures. Good luck to this place. Will close down soon.
Terrible doctors and terrible office! They keep working hard to pull all negative reviews but now i’m on a mission to have truth come out about this office. They will be getting a call from the department of health very soon. BEWARE! Don’t let this money hungry doctor pretend to care about your childs health. All they see is money signs when a patient walks through the door. They are unable to determine a simple ear infection.
Very filthy office and terrible doctors!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
