List of Afc Urgent Care Center's Reviews
I’ve never been to any urgent care where if you can’t unfortunately pay you copay up front you can’t be seen, isn’t that illegal? Also the woman at the front desk shouted my copay across the half full waiting room, I don’t think that’s professional. I wasn’t greeted when I came in either.
Staff was professional and timely
Merleen was amazing very patient, understanding of my issue made me feel comfortable and easy to talk too. Feel good to know someone care about the patients and the health of patients.
Visited here a few times and have had a good experience. Ample parking, coming in before peak times help lessen the wait. Only annoyance is that long sign in process every time you see them. They gotta figure out a way to make this easier for returning customers.
I appreciate the fast and attentive service during a very painful back injury.

My experience at the AFC Urgent care in West Orange was horrible. The office staff and nurses were indifferent to my weak condition. After handing the nurse my ID, insurance card and credit card, I was told that I had to stand up in front of a mounted iPad and check myself in. When I told the receptionist/nurse that I was too weak to stand for too long. She said I still had to do it. When I tried to lower the iPad to me while I was sitting, it was not mobile. So, I had to tilt it down to fill in my check-in information into the iPad. After I had completed that. The receptionist/nurse called me to the desk and told my I had to complete a written copy of my check-in information too. When I asked why I needed to do the iPad and the paper, she said it is the company's policy. I signed the papers and quickly filled in what I could. Then, I placed the clipboard and papers on the reception desk. I returned to my seat, curled up a little and tried to get more comfortable. That's when I heard one staff member telling the other staff member "I'm not doing it!". Then, a nurse walked over to me and handed the clipboard and papers back to me and said that I had to fill in all of the information on the papers. I told her I was not feeling well and needed help. But she insisted the papers had to be done completely, before I could be seen. It was odd because I had been there several times before and my information should have been on file. The nurse and receptionist were very rude. Then, they began talking about me to a third staff member (who had come from the back). I explained that I was weak and that the entire check-in process was too much for me because I was weak and sick (and had been for about 2 days). The receptionist told me it was all company policy. When I tried to respond to her questions (from my seat to her, behind the counter). She and the other 2 staff members acted as though they could not hear me. I called to them a few more times, but they ignored me. Eventually, one of them said they couldn't hear me. So, I used all my might to project my weak voice and tell them I needed medical care and compassion. Then, the doctor came from the back to find out what the noise was. The 3 staff members told her that I had tried to knock down the mounted iPad and that I started yelling at them for no reason. I was crying and asking for the office manager. That's when a staff member told me the office manager was not there. The doctor told the staff members to take me in the back for medical care. However, the nursing staff (2 members) were rude, cold and careless. I do not recommend the West Orange AFC Urgent Care to ANYONE! The doctor was nice but that did not make up for the check-in process, poor customer service and lack of care/compassion of the receptionist and other 2 nursing/staff members.
I can’t fully review the level of care by the physician until I see the results oh his diagnosis. Initially the staff are pleasant but signing in using a kiosk is impersonal and would be daunting if you are elderly or not tech savvy. As well, when CVS sent a request for further details regarding my son’s prescription the clinic did not respond. And, upon calling the woman at the front desk she said they were too busy and that the pharmacy needed to call them. A kind lady in the pharmacy agreed to call and stated that they answered on the first ring. Hence not “too busy” Won’t be going back.
Very effective system efficient care friendly staff excellent service
Took my child here. The attendant seemed annoyed when I asked if they provided care for children. After 25 minutes as she watched my child crying out loud in pain, she determined they did not accept my insurance. She could have asked for my card before wasting our time. Instead I had to use a kiosk which took 5 minutes to then prompt my phone which took 10 minutes, I waited 10 more minutes to be told they couldn’t accept my insurance. Took my child to an actual emergency room with real doctors where her care was no issue. It is frustrating that this center pops up in Google as an option for emergency care when it is absolutely not NOT emergency care facility. Urgent is misleading.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
