List of David M. Loya's Reviews
Dr. Loya was great. He let me talk and talk and he listen to all my complaints. I found him to be very patient and did not rush out the room. I came with severe shoulder pain. I was treated by Dr. Loya and he also recommended therapy. I don't know if his treatment or the therapy made me 95% better. But I know one thing Dr. Loya expertise and his advise gave me back the strength in my shoulders within 2 week. 💪💪😇 Only thing one, I was back to work 🙄 5stars
I met with Dr. Loya after a sports-related injury to my knee. After an exam, he deemed the injury to be non-surgical: an ACL sprain and potentially partially torn meniscus. He had an X-ray completed but didn’t believe an MRI was necessary at the time. He suggested that the injury would heel with rest (no recommendation on physical therapy), but that I should return with an MRI if the knee wasn’t recovering. After experiencing other instances of my knee buckling several months after the initial visit, I returned to Dr. Loya with results from an MRI. His evaluation was unchanged – the ACL was intact and surgery was not needed. At that time, he recommended physical therapy for 8-12 weeks to strengthen the muscles around the knee. I brought the doctor’s note to my physical therapist along with the MRI report. The physical therapist quickly pointed out that the doctor’s diagnosis and MRI report were confusing and conflicting. The MRI report referred to an abnormal ACL and prior tear, both inconsistent with the doctor’s diagnosis to me even after having the MRI imaging and report. A second opinion to another doctor quickly revealed that the ACL, while not torn in half, was in fact fully detached and required surgery to repair. That Dr. Loya misdiagnosed the ACL not only before but after the MRI imaging and report is perplexing. Additionally, he never returned the calls from my physical therapist asking for clarification on the conflicting information that I handed over. If you have an ACL injury, I recommend Tri-County Orthopedics in Cedar Knolls. If you find yourself in a similar situation and are thinking of visiting Dr. Loya, look elsewhere.

Horrible. Operated on my elbow twice and then told me I needed more surgery and said he didn’t know who could do it Never reached out to me and didn’t care. Spent ten months in terrible pain and with no use of that arm. We researched and I had total elbow replacement in NYC. He should have never operated again when first surgery was not successful. Please use someone else. There are other good surgeons in this very office
I recently seen Dr. Loya with a lower back issue ( severe back spasms). I found his office staff to be very pleasant and very accommodating. Dr. Loya took his time with me and was very attentive to my concerns and my pain level. I have been working in the medical field as an Echocardiographer in the NYC area for 20 years , and have worked with many physicians over these the years and still do! I would highly recommend this Physican and practice! I will continue to use Dr. Loya with any future orthopedic issues. Dana
Dr. Loya is no longer at the 22 Old Short Hills Rd address, not for years. My experience in his West Orange office excellent
I was a referred to Dr. Loya by my primary doctor. I went to the ER early Sunday morning with fluids in my knee. ER did nothing except give me painkillers (which did not work to relieve the pain ). Dr. Loya went out of his way to open up his office on a Sunday evening to see me and drain my knee. Next day, he scoped and cleaned out my knee. Now l'm on the road to recovery.
If I could give no stars I would. Dr. Loya did a routine hip replacement surgery on my grandmother and gave her medicine that she was allergic too! He basically killed my grandmother. Put her in a coma and life support! Then would not even follow up on her surgery since to them she would never wake up. Be carful with this doctor especially if you have allergies.
I had broken my collarbone and dr. Loya was recommended by the ER staff. He was very professional and concerned for my well being. After I began to heal he suggested PT and wrote me an additional PT prescription when my PT noted I had made progress but would benefit from a few more weeks. A nice man to deal with after an aversive experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
